Since it is allowed and possible, would anyone be interested in playing an invitational or two on MU?
Basically we make a mafia game like normal, but it's hosted and played on the Mafia Universe forum. It's allowed to make invite-only games, so we could host something FGF-only. A light game is also a possibility, and would probably be more up your alley (they tend to be simple setups with either post limits or long phases to make them less of a burden for lazy lurking nonposters like the regulars here ;)) - they could be opened up to other people too, since everyone is bound to the restrictions/everyone benefits from long phases, so it's cool and shit.
As long as setups are not bullshit role fiestas like I host, games can be fully automated too, which removes part of the problems with hosts like me, and human hosts in general (phase shifts and flips on time, automatic vote counts, cool stuff). And closed setups (unless the game is an offsite invite-only thing) need to go through a review process, so hooray my shitfiestas have to actually go through balance checks now.
Of course everything has downsides, and I'm mostly seeing two, though there might be more, I guess.
1. You have to make an account on a new forum :)
2. We're not playing on Kongregate (and we don't want an identity crisis happening, don't we?)
A light setup in 10-20p bounds could probably be doable with a sprinkling of some fellas from MU, with a healthy dose of hours in the day (and maybe a post limit too - not sure if long phases *with* posting limits are a thing).
**Would there be interest for something like that?** I would, of course, gladly volunteer for making a game or two in this vein, since I'm more of a watcher than a player myself, and technically I *probably* am most familiar with that side of the site from everyone here, so that makes me most qualified here, I guess? (automated hosting solves like 70% of the problems with me as a host anyway)

Okay, maybe I'm not _completely_ in retirement.

This caused me to lose interest. I wanted to host a quite outlandish mafia after Bluji's one came to a close, but from the sounds of it it seems like you want to move away from FGF completely instead.
It makes me sad that experimental set-ups aren't allowed so to be honest I'd rather stay here.

I think you might've misunderstood me there -
> setups are not bullshit role fiestas like I host, **games can be fully automated too**
the thing is, I usually do closed setups, and those need to go through a review process (unless im hosting a, quote, "de facto offsite games which are simply using MU as a hosting platform" - and theres a big risk of not going 9p+ with such a restriction. The other option could be a "de facto MU games with a curated playerlist", which at that point *requires* a review).

What is this "Review process" that you speak of, like what are the cirteria, what sort of restrictions apply when creating set-ups ect. That's my main concern as from the sounds of it, this place is a very cookie cutter format.

automated games are restricted to the roles and mechanics that the bot knows about.
you can run games with less automation (like, only the vote counts and deadlines, I think).
The review process on other sites typically involves an experienced host going over your setup with you.
MU has groups, there's a spot for them on the vertical profile navbar, with a join link, the FGF group is easy to find, if you make/have an account on MU, join our group and send friend invites.

Gauging interest in a potential mafia game to run after Turtle's upcoming game ends.
13 players
balance most definitely not guaranteed
P much all the pre-game is randed, including which of 5 setups we'd be playing
The power of dice compels you! Kneel before RNGsus.

RandomTurtle already mentioned in-thread that they'd like to host a mafia after Bluji's (and also above)

Well, this took a bit of time to work up the courage and get over the anxiety to ask this (since most people who RP are kind of gone), but like totally theoretically if someone tried to host some kind of (heavily watered down and diluted) tabletop game, what kind of genre would anyone who might be interested in RP be interested in. There was that music band one, but it kind of quickly died due to lack of activity and it may not have been very appealing, so I was just kind of trying to get a sense of what people who may or may not want to play any RPs may or may not be interested in.
I guess it's kind of an open ended question that I guess I'll leave here in the event the RP side ever returns.

**Surreal Odyssey**

with alice in the wonderland vibe
Facing outwardly eldritch creatures and lovecraftian horrors
Tinkering with absolute randomness of flora and devices
Good extra references would be Mushishi series, the latest chapter of 'Made in Abyss' manga, plane of Modrons (D&D), but these all are lacking the brighter/happier coloristics like those of Alice or cartoony like in Adventure Time
Planeswalking is not a bad idea and down-to-earth occupations that focus on research and roleplay rather than combat (pet keeper, painter, storyteller, inventor, street sweeper, floristician, cartographist) fit the theme.

Really. First post after all these years and that's how you repay me, kongregate?

welcome to a very good spam filter where posting a link or an image puts you on a wait list and you wait till you get whitelisted *manually*
are we getting flagships 2? Pog

Modern-day settings, Call of Cthulhu, or Wuxia, but do whatever you want. An RP only works if the host likes the idea.

Yeasy has severe burnout.
Yeasy doesn't plan to host anything unless extreme circumstances occur.
Yeasy speaks in 3rd person because it's less direct than 'no'.

I was thinking about hosting something myself personally, but FC seems like a more reliable option :)
Not sure if I'm understanding "planeswalking" right, but that would be really neat and I'd be up for that. You'd need a decently creative host for that though.
Willing to wait for a finely-crafted experience though.

We could do something in the Discord with [FATE rules](https://fate-srd.com/fate-core/basics) (pretty open ended for worldbuilding, so it'd suit any setting) and a dicebot.

Also, welcome back, Yeasy fo sheezy.

If it's not too hard, I could try it for my own game I mentioned. That or FUDGE, I imagine.
But once again, I can't guarantee in any capacity that I'll actually make this game and, if it does start, will it take off anywhere decent.
I'd totally be down to play with you guys if you do host something, though. <3
