Hello Everyone,
We have an exciting event **coming to Animation Throwdown: Winter Clash!**
Winter Clash will begin on Tuesday, December 11 at 18:00 UTC and will end on Friday, December 14 at 18:00 UTC.
Winter Clash is a challenge meant for later-game players who have already unlocked the Secret Fight Club (SFC). It's designed to give players a few difficult and impactful battles each day of the event. Where other events can sometimes require a few days before the battles become challenging, we're hoping that this event is immediately engaging and inspires some new, unique deck strategies.
Read below for more info and **please share your feedback** before, during, and after the Winter Clash. We may hold a similar event again in the future and will take your feedback into consideration for improvements.
**Stay tuned for even more holiday updates & community activities! **
***

#### Winter Clash Overview
Winter Clash is a non-refillable PVP Challenge. It will have a similar format to regular Challenges, with a few twists:
* The global Battleground Effect (BGE) will not be in effect
* The defending player (your opponent) will take the first turn
* There will be no sleep delay on the opponent's first played card
* There will be a special BGE that buffs specific combos
* This Challenge has modified scoring
* Only players who have reached SFC can participate
***

#### Winter Clash BGE
The special BGE for this Winter Clash will focus on combos.
**The following list of combos and power cards will receive a 100% boost to Attack, Health, and all skills:**
(the cards are also pictured above)
* Gun Safety Peter
* Santa Killer Hayley
* Santa Killer Steve
* Eggnog Roger
* Spinout Louise
* Fowl Fighter Teddy
* Heavenly Hank
* Santa Bill
* Road Kill
* Penguin Conservator
* Ready for Santa
* Santa Bender
Although the image shows Legendary versions of these combos, ***all recipes and Power Cards for the combos will be affected. ***
Additionally, **starting at level 25, enemy cards and heroes will get a 10% boost to Health, Attack, and all Skills. This boost increases by 10% every level thereafter**.
You will be able to tap the BGE icon in-game to view the affected combos and all of their recipes. The BGE affects a variety of combos; including farmable, reward, and premium card recipes.
**Combo Mastery will also be in effect for both attackers and defenders in this event.**
***
#### Matchmaking, Scoring, Rewards
Players will start the event at an appropriate challenge level based on their current SFC rating.
Winning will earn points based on your current challenge level, and will increase your challenge level. Losing will cause you to drop a level (to a minimum of 1), **but you will still earn points equal to winning the previous level**. For example: if you do not beat level 10, you will drop down to level 9 but will earn just as many points as you would have if you defeated level 9.
In other words, the longer you win, the more challenging your opponent but the more points you will earn. If you are defeated, you will still earn points for your participation.
Earn as many points as you can to rank up and earn sweet event rewards!
***
#### Shop
A special box will be available in the shop, offering cards or combos that are helpful for the Winter Clash.

Would have been nice to have more of a notice so I could actually research these combos in time. Now I have to choose between researching the current Educated BGE and this new challenge.

Just odd that you left out the Christmas Combos, bobby feels more unloved now than ever, he wanted those christmas trees to be cut down.

So is there an incentive to being ranked lower in SFC when the challenge starts? I’m wondering if I should drop my ranking in SFC

I wouldn't recommend intentionally dropping your rank beforehand. Losing won't be terribly punishing. You'll drop down a level, but you'll still get the points for the previous level. So for example, if you start at level 10 and lose, you'll drop down to level 9 and get the points you would get if you won level 9.
If you drop yourself too far down in SFC, you could end up making yourself start somewhere too easy. Climbing back up wouldn't yield as many total points as if you had just started at a harder level and taken the loss points.

Thanks. I was wondering about that. Seems Kong put some thought into this. I’m sure I will get trashed fairly quickly, but it will be fun to see what happens.

a) Kudos on having something new!
b) I'm assuming this is not live PVP, but just PVP in the sense that we're playing against another player's deck?
c) Where's Santa Stewie?

A) Thanks! Super glad to see people get excited about this.
B) Correct. Great question.
C) The devs aimed to have a BGE that affected a mix of farmable/reward/premium card recipes that were holiday themed and provided a little variation from the global BGE. We ended up with this list, but will take suggestions into consideration if there are future events. :)

Brilliant idea. Something new we are not preconditioned to.

No. That’s not what they’re recommending at all. See above posts.

why the uneven distribution? 3 futurama, 3 koth, 3 american dad, 2 bobs burgers, and only one family guy combo?

I have 4 quads. I keep sets of all the non-bge epics just in case. A case like this.

So when will we get a (real time ) pvp. Like hearthstone. Where players have like 30 sec to play a card but you realy are playing against a player... Not a bot playing another guys deck.

Also what happened to Christmas punch out
|
|
|

all these combos should be autoresearched for this event

Hi ModchiKopi, did you intentionally leave off these:
* Sleighing Tonight
* Cut Down Christmas Tree
Event looks interesting. Thanks

Probably never. TBH, I like it this way. One of the things that drew me to this game was the fact that you don't have to be in a hurry. At any given moment, I can get up from the keyboard, come back 5-10-15 minutes later, and not lose any ground. If I look away at the TV for a few minutes, there are no surprises when I look back at the computer. There are plenty of other games where you can have the full PvP experience, and those games tend to have a higher stress level. I found the casual game I was looking for in AT.

I can only make 3 of them! When I think of all the ruperts I recycled... it's like that episode at the teddy bear factory. And, I just recycled an Eggnog Roger PC last night argh..
