Cool, I went AFK for some 10 minutes, and the game just went on. :DDD
My gem is G29 with G24 amps. :DDD
I’ll try to make it G30, then I can speed up the game a bit.
For now, it gets too lagged, if I speed up more than 10 waves.

NOW I see the difference in build-up:
My Replenish (and Resonance) is only at 300%, while yours is 1275% (what about Resonance?)!
I’m all Focus.
Maybe I should make it more balanced, hmmm…
But it looks too costly to seriously increase Replenish – Focus will lose like half of the bonus to make it worthwhile…

Don’t look at skills. Learn strategy – squishing, gem in shrines, gem building strategy.

With 10 times lower skills you can do same start on 10 times easier field (G13 have 600hp tenfold 4 giant wave versus 15k hp in video).
Bigger replenish makes start easier, and let me get from shrines more mana than cost of used gem.

You can see my real problem from my first screenshot – too small mana pool…
I had such crazy mana regeneration, that I could waste it endlessly on increasing the stupid mana pool, but couldn’t build big enough gems, unless I cramped them from dozens of smaller ones – which takes FOREVER…
Thus, Focus is actually what helps with it, if anything at all…
I had zero problem with monsters – I’m so used to summoning, I can do it automatically. :DDD
But I hate, when it takes eons to build a stronger gem…
I was dreaming of a MACRO: use max buildable gem, combine, use, combine, use, combine, …, combine with the strongest gem in the tower, repeat…
Cause when I have to do it manually, for a hundred gems… :(((

Hide infopanel (hotkey I), hover mouse over max gem, press D. with decent manafarm you will get big amount of duplicates.
Then use G, ctrl+click.

Sure, but if I must build a G30 out of G22, I’ll need around 500 of those…
Oh, I got your point, it will be a BIT faster, still enormous amounts of gems…
The problem – I can build only ONE max gem per full mana pool…
Thus, even with your suggestion, it’s way slower, than how it works in the beginning, when you build full anvils by using half of the pool…
I hate that they don’t let you build G13+ gems at once – much easier, than doing it through D…

Actually, by the time you have a manapool big enough to duplicate G22 gems, you can create m fast enough (well, almost as fast as with a Shift+Click) if you turn off autoextend manapool.
I just hover over a G22 I have set away in an Amp and due to my manafarm, my gem pool will fill up in less than 2 seconds, just make sure you don’t have anything that lags your game too much, as Gremlion said, turn off infopanels and not having any monsters on screen helps a LOT.

Personally, I add in a goodly amount of Yellow in my Manafarm, so they act as killgems at the same time. Sure, I lose out on manafarm effectiveness, but the amount of lag it prevents makes it worth it in terms of Real Time for me (I play on a moderately aged laptop).
Basically, after G16 (that’s when I need a fullsheet of G11s to upgrade the next), I use 3 Yellow gems, 6 Lime Gems (until the gem hits around 200-300 targets ~around G24 or 25 or so) and the rest is Orange… Once I reach the 2-300 hits, I just replace Lime with more Orange until it drops to where I want to add more Lime again.
It takes me about 80 Waves to get my main Kill Gem up to where it can finish all Waves, but I’d rather be there at W80 with an hour or and hour and a half invested, than have it ready by Wave 40, but with 3 hours of playtime invested…

I was told to make a G30 (and it made sense in the end).
To do it, using only G22 gems, it’ll take you forever.
But I didn’t think of turning auto-extend off. :DDD

Trust me, turning off autoextend makes a world of difference.
By the time you’ve got a 450M manapool, chances are your manafarm will fill up your manapool with just 1 hit (with mana to spare), so turning it off will give you a full manapool to duplicate your G22s each time. Since it’ll be firing so rapidly, you can make that fullsheet in 1 or 2 seconds flat (depending on how much lag you’ve got of course)… If I’m not mistaken, you need 15 fullsheets, so most of the time will actually go to combining the gems (thank god for Shift + G), but even then, you can have your G30 in a minute or 2 ;)

I see these beautiful screen grabs posted by others and would like to be able to.
so I downloaded a program that does a fine job WITH ANY PAGE EXCEPT THIS GAME!!! when I grab a pic of the game screen I end up with a black/blank screen. that’s it. my picture viewer can’t see it. I tried pasting it to word: nada. tried saving it to a blog entry – - ‘paste’ isn’t even available.

so can someone help me, please? is there another program I need? or some other trick I’m not smart enough to figure out? or what?

I use PrintScreen, crop in Paint, upload to tinypic.com with resize option of 800×600. :DDDDD

I had been trying and trying to beat endurance – - for DAYS.
then I read the posts you guys put up in the early pages of the forum. I used a combination of the tips you outlined and my next attempt was successful!

my first try was level G-12 because it was the lowest [easiest?] level that offered 2 of the necessary gems [yellow and orange.]
then I immediately unlocked cyan and lime, followed Vesperbot’s instructions in re trap placement [except I added an initial trap with pure orange [added lime when the gem reached about grade 7] and I was off to the races! the fact that the game so thoughtfully provided me with 6 initial traps allowed me to sink all my initial manna into gems and amps. and how cool is that?

those 2 initial trap-runs kept the monsters at bay and grew manna while I built up my defenses around the orb. it worked like a charm.

thanks, Vesperbot. I was completely stymied on this and would never, in a million years, have hit on this combination of traps.

And, rudy, LOVE your idea of blue traps coupled with lightning shrines. works like a charm.

I’ve won 3 maps now and am starting to feel confident enough to start adding difficulty settings.

if you’re on a PC, just hit the printscreen button on your laptop then open up paint and paste the image (ctrl + v). I’m pretty sure that’s what somebody613 meant.

ok. there may be [probably is] reference to this but I haven’t found it as I’ve looked around the forum so – - a question:
I have yet to win a Shadow Clash except for the ones provided in the game itself. every time I’ve ticked the option on a random map, I’ve lost. in short order.
I’m at level 212 – - surely that’s high enough to have a chance? but – - nada.

ok, yes, there have been times when the shadow hovered over the orb spawning monsters and, yes, I lost those. I expect to lose then. but even when that doesn’t happen, I’m dead in no time flat.

so – - does anyone have suggestions for the skill-set needed to beat this?
Ive got wild gem maxed along with purple, lime and yellow gems. I pour as much as I can into focus – 90, banisher = 30, resonance = 70, gems and buildings at their lowest cost.

but, when the shadow arrives, my defenses just AREN’T what they need to be and I’m creamed almost instantly.

Charged bolt shrines near spawn point.
you will need some yellow gems(based on resonance. 8 grade will kill it for sure without resonance – 109 bolts * 3-9 k (6k average) * 3,4 crit = 2mln damage and 24% hp decrease.
Lesser grades can have troubles with 900 armor.

aamof, I just played a map with a charged bolt shrine right next to the orb [provided when I arrived] and didn’t even think to use it.
