Could you fix the attack animations? place the arm and weapon in the correct layer so its either in front of or behind the character?
Also, depending on how characters are generated, you could create one set of generic humanoid animations and then the body parts/weapons could be dynamically loaded. It would everyone time and effort methinks.

Hey, I’d just like 2 say, that one day I would love to create my own game, so I would like 2 help u. Unfortunately my dad had 2 get us a linux ubuntu and now I don’t know how stuff works, but I can still create music for the battles and help with the storyline. I can also help with items, spells and skills (the names and as I cannot design and animate, I can describe how the spells/skills could look. For example in a certain spell, it could involve the character doing a certain motion to cast it e.g. with ice shard coming from the ground, he lifts his arms upwards. Maybe a light blue aura around his hands, indicating that it is an ice spell or just to make it fun :P)
I hope u accept me, since I have several ideas hanging inside my head, waiting to be used (and they haven’t cuz of a linux x/) and I have made a few plans for my own games in the future. Although I know I won’t b able 2 use them just yet, I will use them now and come up with new ideas later :)

I understand you really want to be involved in the game-making industry, but I suggest actually learning a marketable skill first. Actionscript 2.0 is insanely easy to learn and will allow you to put all your “Great ideas” into action yourself! There are loads of free, online guides for you to learn from and hundreds of websites with programming forums just like this one where you can ask any queries or questions you like.
As for joining in on this particular project, as attractive as your offer sounds I really don’t think we need some random guy shouting spell names at us like some crazed Harry Potter fan.
The problem here is that all the things you’re offering to do can easily be done by other members of the project. Visual effects and elements will better be handled by the person/people handling art/graphics, the story and quests (including item names etc) can be handled by the writers/creators/designers of the game. Basically what I’m trying to say is that most real, semi-professional projects don’t require an “ideas guy” like yourself.
I was in you’re exact position several years ago. I learnt AS2 and practiced basic animation and now I feel I can be a viable part of flash-based projects.
Regardless, I suggest you talk to Virror. This game was his concept, and he’s the project leader or creator or whatever grand title you wish to use. I have a feeling he’ll say similar things to me though.
Good luck with your projects anyhow, hope you start to consider taking up art, animation or programming more seriously now :) .

Hey Virror! Just wondering, do you think you could post the latest version of the demo on here?
I really want to see how it’s going!

well, u c:
1st I’m not a harry potter fan.
2nd I believe that spells and skills are what make an rpg good. If you have just normal attacks, it’ll most definitely b a bit boring
3rd As I said, I have a linux and most windows programs don’t work perfectly on it yet unfortunately.
4th While someone is creating animations, at the same time I could b doing something which might not seem important, but does still help create the game.
If you don’t want me helping u around, fine I’ll just leave

You can hardly spell, I doubt you’ll be able to produce coherent and acceptable written design information for a proper game. I’m not trying to offend you, I’m simply stating a well-know fact: No-one, No game development team, needs or even wants an ‘Idea man’. Especially one who can’t even load the correct software.

I made a couple more skeleton guys (one with a rusty sword in his chest and one holding his own skull) and gave them all attack animations.
Here ya go!

Tactful: Looking good, i will fill in some of the beginning quests i have thought about.
Electron_Games:Good as always. I have thought about the armour thing, and i think we need to include the shield arm as well, because the armour is hardly visible otherwise in the battle scene. I found this link btw http://howtodrawfantasy.com/ Maybe something good in there?

I can’t fix it right now, unfortunately, ‘cause I’m not at home, but what’s happening?
I’ll see if I can at least figure out the problem! :)

Oh, I think I know the problem!! The default shield option is none, so the first frame of the shield movie clip is blank, rendering them invisible unless you go to the next frame. Sorry, my fault!

The overview? I’ve barely started it, but I could have a crack now. I had a psychology conference earlier, that was pretty tiresome, but I’m sure I could stay awake for at least another hour :D. TEAM MYSTERY ISLAND, GO!
