I know some basic Programming and have even made some art, I’m working on and learning more art techniques. Programming is definitely something I want to master and get better at, music on the other hand is to complicated and hard to learn (for me at least).

Sorry for the late response.
Yes, I really want to make a team of “Listed in first post”, it would be a fun and exciting thing/group to have and help me in my objectives and goals. Anyways, thanks for your curiosity, and help; it’s sad that you could not join (I’m guessing because of the AS3, I would change it or do both, but I have no idea/experience with AS3) if you ever want to join you know where to find me, just leave a whisper. I’ll wait out to see if any others want to join and help me in creating this team, thanks.

Why do they have to have Adobe Flash. Why are you discriminating against Flex or other free Flash alternatives? XD

Well, I wasn’t certain if any other programs would work well with files created from Adobe Flash. If you use another program, does it produce .swf and work well or load up Adobe Flash Files?

I think you’re misunderstanding what Adobe Flash is, exactly. It’s not a programming language. It’s not a compiler. It’s an IDE, which is another way of saying “overhyped text-editor with macros and buttons”. As long as you have a text editor and a compiler (which are both free) you can make real, honest-to-goodness .swfs.

Oh… I’m sorry, yes I really didn’t know that, I always thought that all different programs made .swf, but were not compatible or worked on other programs such as Adobe Flash. Thanks for the Message.

Flash uses a binary fla file, which FlashDevelop/Flashbuilder won’t be able to open or compile. You’ll find it near impossible to work on a project if everyone else is using Flash and you’re not.

Unless they were to be using a newer or older version of the product (Adobe CS3, Adobe CS4), but yes it would be a little harder and confusing; I’m sure the program decision or program the user uses isn’t going to be a big problem.

Well, the easy (and obvious) solution to that is to cut out the expensive proprietary software entirely. .fla files aren’t needed to make .swfs, and it seems all they do is generate more money for Adobe and stifle casual and open-source development. What does Flash actually put in the .fla files, anyway?

Well, generating money for Adobe is a good thing, because that money would most likely go into to making new updates to their site, products and information. As for your question, I really don’t know I’m not that much of a expert on .fla files, but I’m sure Moly or UnknownGuardian can help.

It would seem the obvious solution, but people are strangely reluctant to use anything but Flash. It’s what 99% of tutorials are written for, and once they’ve learnt to use it they see no benefit in changing.

Flash(Actionscript) is in fact a hard and fun thing to learn, it’s why I’m learning more and more. I really want to become a great developer, but the thing is I need some teammates to help me and other teammates in creating games, in that time (I’m hoping more then 5 months) I know that all of the members will have learn something new or gotten better at something. And by the way I still am looking for members.

I am interested in filling the position of being a developer. I am interested in the creation of a game, like how the plot goes and how the game play is executed. I have actually been gathering thoughts of my first game which is a turn based RPG. I haven’t started the rough draft though, I am creating the game in my mind, my thoughts just don’t seem to meet the page, so to speak.

I seem to only be able too come up with adventure/RPG games however, and I am not good with titles or character names. But when it comes to actually making the story, I think that I am pretty good (only because I have not asked for anyone’s opinion).

BTW. I could also be a beta tester.

@d_ninja: Excellent, but what will you do… will you come up with the ideas and plot/concept (You weren’t clear). You have to describe exactly what you do, if you do coding/programming, if you do art, if you want to be a beta tester(which you mentioned) and if you’re going to be a concept and plotter(Wow, don’t know if I said that right).

Right now, I’m thinking you can come up with Ideas for the team and story-lines. If I’m incorrect pleas elet me know, as you were not claer, also I’ll add you do the beta-testers list, and thank you.

Okay, I have updated my profile and it also includes some detail, but very little. Anyhow, I’m excepting 2-3 Programmers, 2-3 Artists, 2 Musicians, a Co-Owner, 2-3 people for Concept/Plot, A graphic Designer would be great as well. Thanks, and please state which you want to be and if you can some examples of your work, once you have done that I will give you mmore detail about your choice and what is expected.

Also my program of choice is Adobe Photoshop CS4 Extended, I am able to use the animation features but not to an amazing extent but for the time being I can do basic character movements and stuff, anyways let me know if you are interested thanks.

We are still looking for two to three programmers/coders.
…One to Two Artist
…Two Graphic Designers
…One to Two Musicians
And Beta Testers are limitless, but it’s good to sign up for one, because early beta-testers get to test a game before other beta-testers!
