Not necessarily. Obviously some familiarity with how code logic works can be helpful when creating new behaviors. Stencyl is designed to make that easy, and there also are behaviors that come with Stencyl to do all the most common actions to both save you time and trouble.

As dotHectate said, having some prior knowledge of coding will help, but Stencyl is really as simple as it gets.
However, before making your own game out of scratch, I would >> definitly << recommend Abigayl’s Stencyl tutorials, (which are on Kongregate by the way)

No but dont expect to be able to do anything with the available tutorials. You’re going to have to spend a lot of time asking questions on the forum. Once you get it though it gets a lot easier.
