Idle Game With Stencyl

Flag Post

So I’m in the process of (trying to) create an idle/rpg mix called Idlepets.
I was wondering what the best way to go about this was. I know that Stencyl is limited in a number of ways, and that is what discouraged me from using it in the past. Ultimately though, since I’m no good at coding, this will be the only way I can make a semi-decent game.

Does anyone know of any particular tutorials that would be useful for creating an idle game? I’m also just looking to see what the community thinks would be an efficient way of setting up a character sort of like in A Knight’s Story.

I guess Stencyl has kind of lost popularity. :c I’m sorry to see that.

Any input?

I’ve been searching all over the internet for tutorials on Stencyl but it seems i can not find any. But if you don’t know coding that’s alright for Stencyl because it requires no coding! But if you will use any other program for creating games (Unity, Gamemaker etc…) then i recommend you really learn coding. But other than that i can’t help you and i am looking for a answer as well :(

So does anyone have an answer? Please help us!

Hello everyone with questions, I am here to help. If you really want to make flash games I say forget about this Stencyl nonsense (Its nice software for beginners but isn’t useful for most projects). If you want to make a game (Like I’m currently doing) you should learn Action Script 3 and use Flash Pro from Adobe. There are tons of tuts and guides even right here on kong. I taught my self how to make games in just a month and have already started developing my first game. Good luck to you all and I hope this helped. You can PM me if you have more questions.

Well, you can use game variables to store things like money, resources and workers. Stencyl also works pretty well with realtime elements. It shouldn’t be that hard!
