TL;DR: Well, there’s a lot of things going on in my life right now, mostly only negative aswell. I don’t really know what to do…

I don’t really think you guys should care if you don’t, but I just feel I should get this out there…

Know that feel bro. Almost the same happened to me when I converted my laptop from Vista to Windows 7. Forgot to make a backup, so all my homework from 8th grade and including that week was gone.

Over to my next question. What did have to tell about in the finals?

I rrarely cry at school, but today, I did. As you guys might know, my life is basically football, school and computer.

I think that would translate as surrealism/irrealism and romantism, or somethink like that.

Nah, it’s no secret story. Anyways, it’s almost only the bronies that visit this thread, so no damage has been caused. I am just telling the truth. Not saying I don’t have friends or anything like that, because I do have a lot of friends. My dad just got here and picked up my computer and see what he could do. He’s gonna try and boot the system from a CD, and copy the important files onto an external hard drive. I told him about this because of some suggestions by the people over at PonySquare.

There’s about a million ways to recover the files TFO. My favourite way is using an IDE/SATA to USB connector. You’ll be able to run the hard drive as if it were just an external so there is no boot to worry about. Assuming the files weren’t corrupted in the crash it is potentially possible to get a very high rate of recovery. Worst case scenario, the file system was corrupted in the crash, but there are even ways around that.

But I’d need it today or tomorrow, seeing as I have my finals on ths Friday. All my work (homework and such) from 9th grade is gone until we’ve recovered it…

I don’t know the Norwegian equivalent of Memory Express, but if you have access to one you can usually pick up the connector (Costs about $40CAD). You then remove the hard drive (This only works if you are not running RAID, but most don’t run RAID anyways). You connect the hard drive to any computer using the connector. And, assuming the file system isn’t corrupt (It really shouldn’t be) you should be able to see all the folders and files on the drive. There might be some software that comes with the cord that will help with the drivers to connect properly.

There was actually a very long debate about re-sizing or linking to pictures because the amount and size of them was getting a little much for many people.
