Firstly this is just something I’ve had on my mind for awhile, and now finally I would like to share it with you all!
Why?
I figured it would be better to have a senate where we have a democracy. Each Alliance sends in a “senator” to represent his/her Alliance/guild. Here you can decide or discuss things with other Senators from other Alliances/guilds. And I would like to talk to you about this before even thinking of making a thread for the actual “Senate” thread so this may work out.

What’s in it for our Alliance? Maybe this will answer your question TFO…
You may get to know each others alliances better, that makes good team work and that leads to less war, less pain and more well love for each others, I know this may sound gay, but that depends on how you look at things.

Is there a leader?
There is NO leader, every senator from every worthy Alliance/guild is a boss for themselves. But before deciding something, it may be smart to discuss that with your alliance/guild leader. (if your not the leader your self)

How do we pick our Senator?
That’s fully up to your self. But I could recommend that your alliance vote for a Senator in your thread or an own thread for this :)
We now have a Test website!
653421 is the launch code, it can be used to instantly be accepted to test this site! http://bymsenate.guildlaunch.com/roster.php?roster_mode=members&gid=262654

Your suggestions!
- Chatzy account where only the members of the senate are given the password.
- A section showing ongoing wars and score
- Adult/at least serious senators
- Private forum, link given to the senators ONLY ( I can fix that in no time )
- 3+ Senators. One main, two representatives.
If you liked this idea of mine, and you want this to become real, I would like you to post that you want to make
this live. (And with you, I mean an alliance/guild leader!)
And if you think I forgot something, please tell me :)
Regards, Golco

This is an interesting idea. I’m not entirely sure how I feel about it, but it would be worth a try. It would save our individual alliance threads from being spammed with crap.
However… What needs to be decided in BYM that requires all of these alliances to send someone to vote for them?
I’m editing as I continue thinking about this… Would declaration of wars be inside this topic? Say an alliance’s senator says “We _____ declare war on _____” and then they can request for allies during the war at that time?
Also alliances can be recorded here? Sort of like a history of BYM and what alliances are in what standing with whom? It would be easier to be able to access one topic rather than multiple. That’s where the senator can be put in place… sort of an ambassador to this thread, and when decisions are needed that person would come forward?

Thank you for you opinions Spyder :)
And good question you have there Spyder, but I’m afraid I can’t fully answer that question..

And yet again an excellent question Sir. I think I can answer this though. It should be smart to pick a “senator” that knows what he’s doing, and takes what he is doing seriously. Declaring war upon every one when chosen as a senator is in my mind a child, and not responsible to do what he’s been asked to do for his alliance.
And YET again Spyder, a terrific question! And yeah, you can say that :)

I like the idea Golco
My thought is there would be no way to secure the thread and stop it from being spammed. My thought is that this idea might work better as a chatzy account where only the members of the senate are given the password.
Meeting of the senate or decisions could simply be announced with a thread.

Now that I’ve wrapped my mind around the entire idea, I would be in favor of at least trying this.
*I think every alliance needs a post detailing their history, who they’re currently allied with, at opposition with. Basically a thread that encompasses everything about each alliance.
*No new alliances should be allowed on here until they’ve proven to the BYM community that they’ll be around to make a mark on something.
*Maybe a section showing ongoing wars and score? (You’ll have to be more active to keep track of all of this, Golco ;) )
*Perhaps a section warning people from certain players and their behavior?
It seems like this thread could be a total awareness of the BYM community with an emphasis on alliances.
Finally: If this takes off… perhaps stickied :)

I say nice idea, but this is with a big IF.
a) how are you going to choose the alliances that can participate?
- On members, no. This would lead to massive afk’s in the alliances to just join this.
- On someone’s personal view? making them the leader….
b) How are you going to get all members active at the same time ? remember, there are timezones etc. It would take too long for these guys to even respond, if they could make the right decision on the spot, which usually the cannot, leading to an intern vote……
c) This is an virtual game, and what your are trying to create is the ultimate-boss-alliance, to dictate over all allianced members. I dont think that you can have that authority, but on the otherhand, if you dont, people wont take this serious…..

ultimate-boss-alliance? This is not even a close thing to become what you just stated… Maybe you should try to look on the positive instead of the negative. That will make this work better, and then, I am not saying we should not discuss the negative, but we can also try to avoid the negative, and we have to give this time for it to work, and not just rush into it, that will just f**k up the whole idea.

And I have an suggestion for the Timezone problem. We have one that is in charge when it comes to a timezone
where for example Spyder or Des ain’t here so maybe Another member of their Alliance/guild can take over and complete a vote or something.

First things first, im not stating that I am against or pro for this idea. I would like to see it try at the least. But I have just listed some points that will go against this idea. Totally true, that we should look at the positive. But as you now, after a time people will start trying to gain “wealth” over others. Therefore, you must never exclude the negative but work it out of there, with which im trying to help. BTW, gaining wealth over others is/has actually already happened…. Look at the scripting etc. Im happy that it has died down at bit, but i fear it will soon live up again, with in its wake the cell 0/ oops something broke…..

The will always be script raiders in games, its nothing anyone can do about it…
But there is also a defense against the negative against this idea. We just have to figure it out, that why we need time, and don’t rush in to this :)
I am leaving in a few minutes but please, please feel free to post your opinions! And may god bless this idea xD

Lol, i want this thread live, its a good idea. Some of my feedback: Have 3 senators from each alliance. Therefore, some might not be active one day, but others could be on. Kind of a tweak to your suggestion. Plus, maybe our aliance will be split on a suggestion? Or maybe one will go courrupst :P THis will help there.
ALso, maybe set time limits on things to vote on or wahtever, like a 48 hour thingy before it can’t be voted on.
Lots try to find more negatives to smooth out.How will “common players” know if this isn’t corrupt or anything? THings in chatzy could go on without every one being there, or maybe they make unfair truces, like without the Alliances permission when nobody knows it?
All in all, i support this.

I think for the idea to work it would have to have a thread and chatzy account. And if the thread served the purpose that spyder described that would help, Kind of a brief summary of the involved alliances.
I know you really dont have control over this part, but i think the thread should be stickied.

Oh, ok. So chatzy could hold debates and stuff, and the final results and a summary of the chatzy would be posted on the thread. Also, questions could be asked on the thread (that invovle how alliances are gonna handle things).

Hummm…interesting idea,I’m certainly in favour of it,if well executed…here are a few ideas, critics, and other stuff:
-You talked about avoiding spam/trolling…I propose the creation of a private forum, whose link shall be given only to those trustworthy, control of the forum should be made decide carefully though.
-Deciding the number of senators by the members of an alliance :my proposal is 1/10 of the members, with a minimun of one and a maximun of five or so,however, each alliance would still only get one vote, only that for larger ones, the members could discuss among themselves to make sure that, due to it’s larger size, more opinions/sides are represented…
-A problem that may arise how to pick an alliance worthy of this or not : there are many ways and such, but here’s what I think should be used:
~Time alive? (2 weeks – 1 month would do it in my opinion, except all alliances alive before it’s made, which already get in if they fit other requirments)
~Formatting and such? This ones is really hard because of how the opinions on this aspect varies…if more concrete aspects can be picked…it’d actually work…such as requesting a logo and so on…
~Number of members? This one as you said could lead to a ton of AFK alliances.
~Approval from other alliances? As also said…this could lead to corrupt alliances unwillingy to share the benefits…
-Also,views that new people would have on the system must be considered: I have the feeling many would find it totalitary or something, feeling that you have to join to actually be safe…so those opinions must be taken into account…
Well,a few of my pointers…might elaborate more later….

Nice idea but there should be several senates between alliances so that no senates make crap up.
EDIT: there should be a area of discussion/something for non senates who love BYM and have suggestions but thier alliance wont care on that alliance thread

Wow sam, that’s actually a good idea. There should be some way for non alliances to post their opinions. Those are some good ideas Ux. Anyone else got any bad things that ocould come from this? If they make a real thread about this once it’s in action, i think we could post a meeting time 3 days aheead, so that the senators meet in chatzy to debate if noone can settle an idea on the tread. But a summary of the cahtzy dabate must be posted afterwords.
