The guild details screen has been updated (now the whole thing scrolls instead of just the members), improved the layout and descriptions have been added – meaning you can add a description for your guild stating requirements, whether you’re raid/pvp, etc.

Also fixed a couple small bugs (like the Trophies button not working at times).

Potions have now been added to Challenges! When in doubt, throw a healing potion into the mix to give you that extra health when you need it. Just click the potion you want to use when sending or accepting a challenge.

Couple of updates based on chat today: 1) Added your Challenges score at the top of the list so you can see how you’re doing if you aren’t in the top 10 (thanks to thornd for that suggestion). 2) Added the ability to buy/sell 20 items at a time (pretty sure the whole chat room was threatening to come to my house if I didn’t implement something like this).

The Challenge System scoring has been updated. You now get more points for challenges against different players. You can read the in-game details as well, but there is a multiplier bonus based on the number of challenges against the same player each week. If you win, you get 25 points the first time, 15 the second time, 10 the third, 8, then 7, then 5 until you only get 1 point for each challenge after the 7th. The obvious goal is to get people to challenge multiple players rather than challenging the same player many times.

I downloaded a few characters and ran some tests. After the tests, I’ve made a slight adjustment to fortitude. This does a couple of things – it increases health and increases the impact of knowledge as well. The reason being that more health means the fight lasts longer which gives you more chances to crit (assuming you have points in knowledge which buffs crit).

“Last Seen” info was just added to your guild member info. You can only see this if you are the Guild Master of the guild you are viewing. Last Seen is the last day (after today) that person played. If you see a day of 02/01 (February 1st), that means the last time was today or sometime before today.

Today was a busy day including but not limited to:

Factions and Skills: You can now join our first two factions, the Praestor Knights and the Blood Rose Assassins. Once you become a card-carrying member, you can learn new skills. Skills will help when battling ultra raids as ultra raids come with a “typed” defense. The type of defense determines what skills will work best against it. Currently, each faction only has one skill, and there are two defense types. We had our first public beta of ultra raids today and they should be released soon. You can start training skills now to get ready.

New Crafting Items: Two new crafting items that use ingredients dropped by Malikar and the Dragon Knights (the new ultra raids).

Wearable Armor: Steel Plate of the Dragon is the first wearable item in the game. I.E. if you put it on, you’ll see it on your character on your detailed profile (click your headshot or go to your public profile page). The new crafting items are also wearable. The Steel Plate is available in the Book 3 Market.

Slisk Deathclub: Available in the Book 3 Market if you’re Adventurer or higher in Book 3. A great item for your allies in raids.

More to come!

Malikar and the Dragon Knights have now been released into the wild! Look for them on the World Map. The Malikar icon will be marked with “In Progress” if raids are running.

Gierdon Ultra Club! Everyone knows Gierdon loves to take existing gear and improve it. Well, he’s done it again with the Deathclub and fashioned his (patent pending) Ultra Club. Collect dragon drops to craft them for your army.

Don’t forget to train your faction skills!

Auto-declines have now been implemented for the Hero Challenge Leaderboard. What does this mean you ask? Details are in the “What are Challenges” pop-up but basically every Wed and Sat at 2 AM the system will award you 2 points for challenges you sent that are older than 24 hours (and remove the challenge). This starts in about 9.5 hours so reply to your challenges!

Guild Officers! You can now promote 2 of your guildies to the rank of Officer. Officers get a little star next to their name in addition to these other awesome responsibilities:

Ability to update the guild’s description
Permission to view the guild’s bank and unleash guild raids with it
Member management – Officers can accept, reject and kick regular members

The Guild Master is the only player that can promote/demote members.

The Challenge System has been upgraded to select a random opponent in your level range now. We hope this eliminates concerns with people using alts or friends to abuse the system. Let us know what you think!

1. There is now a SELL button on raid loot. You know, for all those Stingers.

2. A level cap has been implemented on the range for the new and improved Challenge System. Here’s an example. If previously you could challenge players 20 levels lower, your range will extend to 20 levels higher.

This just in – 2 new raid records to compete for and 1 new tab for your hero’s detailed profile:

Shield Slam: The biggest hit against the shield defense of a raid boss.

Force Aura Frag: The biggest hit against the force aura defense of a raid boss.

You can view your rank by activating the record tracking on the “Rankings” tab of your detailed profile. There is also a new Skills tab where you can view a hero’s faction memberships, skills and scores for these 2 new records.

Trouble taking down Dak’s Force Aura? Just want to look cool with more fitted gear? Have too many dragonscales? There are two new items that take care of all these issues!

Malikar’s Leg Guards and Malikar’s Plate are stylish, buff your damage against Force Auras and can be crafted or purchased in the Book 3 Market. They also fill out the Knight of the Dragon set (check the Library in game for more details).

And….wait for it….there is now a S-K-I-P button for battles. When you get to the battle screen, click the WATCH button. The button will magically (not really) transform into a SKIP button.

You can then click the REMATCH button if you want to battle spam or spam battle or bam spattle.

Dragon Drops and 3 New Items completing the Steel Heart of the Dragon set!

All of the items are available in the Book 3 Market, and a couple of them can be crafted using the new steel Malikar drops. “What’s a steel Malikar drop?” you ask.

Good question. I’m sure some have noticed the new Dragon Drops" from Mali and his buddies. You can either get a *Platinum or one of the new steel crafties when whacking the defenses of Malikar or one of his Dragon Knights. The bigger your hit relative to your max, the better chance you have. The new Mali/Steel gear that buffs defense damage improves your chances (your max is calculated prior to adding in the buff).

Plat drop rates in raids have been buffed….yes, buffed. While the actual formula is a secret that has been passed down from generation to generation of MMO maker in my family, I can say there are damage amounts that trigger bigger buffs. The first one is at 50,000, the second is at 500,000, the third at ???. These are in addition to other buffs like being the top attacker, 2nd attacker, raid slayer, etc. Attacking raids that are your tier or higher results in bigger buffs.

Check out the new customization feature….hero backgrounds! Yes, you can now customize the background of your hero that shows up in your public profile as well as in battles and challenges. Pick from one of the sophisticated solids or choose a stylish starburst or even grab one of the region backgrounds from around Herenvale. If you’re cool enough, you can unlock the prized CoH background….for advanced players only.
