Newbie question here,
For the first Demon Challenge, it says "Collect 5000 Demon Coins without using Gem Power, Reincarnation Power, Researches or excavations" and my question is, what are Researches? Are they any upgrades, or are they specific upgrades that are not literally defined as 'Researches'?
EDIT: I'm supposing they aren't just any upgrades seeing how you must buy the Hell Rush 'Upgrade' in order to fulfill the requirement, but still it is a bit confusing yet.

Research is a type of upgrade found in a tab called Research. You don't have it yet.
