If you wait until the sunforce assistant time and have gb11, the Good merc build by artcrow can get you to the next R very easily. For perspective my gb was t4 and gh was t1 and the build went way over R gems.
Success story: At R82, on mobile version 2.7.0, using the R87+ Good Dragon & Demon Bloodline/Lineage build (A.K.A. the "FUDG 'Florian's Ultimate Diamond Grinder' - R87+ Good merc build courtesy of Curunur") and using copious amounts of gem conversions, I've reached 1e131-1e133 gems. I'm at e274 coins, almost e308; I've never done that before, myself, and it seems prestige or Ascension 2 will be needed soon for such a momentous occasion! What's the highest coins anybody else has hit, with this build or others, pre-&-post-Ascension?
As it stands, it's a great build, not even going to bother figuring out how many reincarnations that it could net me, and how much higher production can go with more reincarnations, for now.
I'm curious to know if anybody could remind me what the gem requirement was to reach R83, so I could just add e2 to the end of that, and each subsequent reincarnation gem requirement/prerequisite to figure out the reincarnations I could hit, or if someone knows what one I could reach off the top of their head.
Also, I'm curious about if I've reached a relatively unprecedented gem value or potential reincarnation, though I imagine others have done so before me, given I only copied a build (unless my values are much higher by chance). I've heard tell of R91 being reached and who-knows what gem value, so...
In other news, since this is my first event, I didn't know the event upgrades are seemingly free after buying them once. Kinda makes collecting more resources seem obsolete? Might be they unlock free due to feats and quests all being complete? Either way, the good buildings adding mana broke another TC tier, so more gems for me and mana regeneration buffing production!

How come the FUDG build uses the demon BL? What happens if I don't wait enough in stage 3? Why there's no Building Jungle? Why to build up the faction spells we only use DB and not also the other faction spells (GB,FC additional tiers)?
I am using it for the first time: it looks supercool but I haven't understood its philosophy yet.
EDIT: I forgot to mention: maybe it is worth to advise in the guide that, disabling druid challenge 4, the spell building process can be sped up a lot!

Building jungle is pretty weak post ascension, even with the huge amount of buildings we have now. I'm unsure about demon line though, I haven't looked super close, but I don't understand why it's been picked.

I'm not 100% sure either, maybe the creator had a high Gem Production Bonus from it. Few Research and Mercenary upgrades, if any at all, utilize total trophy count, in the build (as far as I've seen). My gem production bonus is only around 3,000% with a probable 5-Day Time Warp used while I aligned with Evil.

I'm going to go on a limb that spell buildup is for the sake of a few Research upgrades relying on total spells cast, and Dragon's Breath: Green buffing lower tier buildings based on spells cast (I.E. buffing tiers 1-3, including Blacksmith/Dwarven Forge, the apparent highest producing building in this Mercenary build due to Fairy Chanting, next to Enchanted Fields).
Not to mention any +x% Maximum Mana upgrade modifiers (i.e. the reworked Helden Sterben Nicht) in correlation with upgrades like Mana Waste's +x Maximum Mana, from spells cast; not to mention, additional Assistants from the Crusaders upgrade as a Good-Aligned Mercenary (and I think it gives a clicking reward too).
D525 buffs Holy Light's clicking reward multiplier per Faction Spell cast, which Tax Collection counts as one of, prior to Shared Benefit, I believe? If not, Druid Challenge 4 off for shorter duration, tiered multi-cast Faction spells to buff D525 would certainly help, as you said. I don't quite understand that Divine research's upgrade mechanics, myself.
More Maximum Mana = Higher tiers of Shared Benefit potentially cast, which = higher production. Also, if the Spellcraft Researches reliant on amount of spells active scale with Shared Benefit tiers cast (and if you check yours or my numbers, it seems all those researches do, albeit less noticeable on particularly low-Reincarnation research upgrades; I forget-- was Research unlocked just pre-Ascension? Too long ago for me to remember); anyways, if Shared Benefit scales on Spellcraft "production bonus based on 'x' amount of active spells" research upgrades, then that's even more production for you.
Edit: Apologies, I misunderstood the context in which you spoke of the buildup in question, and confused them slightly. Just 1 tier of Fairy Chanting triples assistants, mana regeneration via assistants, and Faction Coin Find Chance; Dragon's Breath adds production, Faction Coins, assistants, and Mana Regeneration amongst other things. Tax Collections for Faction Coins and all of the above-else.
I don't know why 1-8 hours of buildup is recommended, I'm usually too impatient. I guess D525, DB: Green, and et cetera can be highly buffed by high spell casts.
Either way, higher production=higher building count=higher mana=higher Shared Benefit tiers cast=higher production, rinse-repeat in a moderate cycle until you hit your Gem wall. Hope I helped explain some. The long/extensive buildup is beyond my intellectual and testing patience to understand, myself.
All I really know is that I just broke e134 Gems with this Heck of a build. Mazel-tov.

Top Tips (for Too Long;Didn't Read purposes):
1) You're running in Evil Mercenary alignment, correct?
2) Don't forget to try, multiple times, to import the build template.
3) The late, and relatively expensive Economy research upgrade E3250, unlocks all unique buildings related to your alignment; maybe you need that for Goblin Banks to unlock S50 (Multiple Tax Collections cast per spell cast, including Tax Collection itself).
4) Spell/building/alignment & et cetera-affiliated upgrades might not appear on the research page until the research UI is refreshed and reopened.
To expand upon that: for example, say you took the Economy research upgrade, E3250, unlocking all of your alignment's unique buildings; with the Good alignment, the E50 upgrade to reduce Enchanted Fields cost won't appear at first, because Mercenary Camps were your only unique building available until E3250, and E50 would be pointless to buy and be rendered unavailable, until you refresh the research menu and had bought E3250 prior.
Some of these builds have expensive late research upgrades like those aforementioned, in the 2700+ range; to reach their costs, use high tier autocasts and high building counts to produce enough coins to afford such expenses. And don't forget to try, multiple times, to import the build template. Same issue with Mercenary upgrade DG9 (Dragon Mercenary tier 3 upgrade, buffs production per tier of Dragon's Breath active) which requires you have the spell unlocked to begin with, to import the upgrade via template. Also, spell/building/alignment & et cetera-affiliated upgrades might not appear on the research page until the research UI is refreshed and reopened. Tips for maximizing S50 efficiency:
I've easily hit 220 Tax Collection casts per spell cast, maybe more depending on E135 and the Goblin building cost reduction bloodline bonus, either as a primary pick or A2950 pick. Higher Goblin Bank count, higher S50 Tax Collection cast bonus. Knocked out Arch-Wizaed casting trophies like a breezy nothing in a few minutes for me. Then, consider any bonus like Dragon Lineage's main perk at a high level, that makes unique buildings count for more for all purposes (Goblin Banks count for more of their own Unique Building count towards S50), and despite no Druid or Undead bloodline for Mana regenerations/assistants, Goblin Banks would count so much for additional Tax Collections.
Hope I helped! I'm not a pro, or math wiz, when it comes to this game, or its' mechanics, but I hoped that I gave some insight and good tips through my insight and experience. The build works fine for me.
I'm in the middle of an Angel Lineage level 15 perk unlock run and also a FUDG buildup phase, thus far maybe two hours in... I think by 58 seconds into the run Call to Arms fell off right as I had Holy Light and Spiritual Surge set to autocast, just trying to set up Mercenary upgrades via import and Research upgrades, due to low mana regeneration, then generating Faction Coins and the like to afford upgrades with Tax Collections & et cetera. Wish me luck on an unbroken chain of spell casts, I hope something got running right before the minute-mark, ans I'm afraid I'll have to do 8 hours all over again, and am hoping I didn't run out of time; I started casting Call to Arms early, and am worried if there would be a problem with the casting chain breaking just before the 1 minute mark... I turned off the Druid Challenge 4 bonus for buildup, hopefully spell times didn't throw this perk pursuit off. But Fairy Chanting still has an approximate 10 minute cast time, as opposed to all oher spell's approximate 20 second cast time. So, here's hoping for a successful run and that opening Kongregate's UI and forum area, and briefly tabbing into Skype on my phone doesn't jack this up too...
Waiting to see how D525 buff, thus far it's at approximately 80% and I doubled to 4,000% Clicking Reward from Holy Light this far, from my last run with 2,300% Clicking reward and only a million spells cast, instead of this run's 20 million or so casts, and ongoing. Also waiting to see how DB: Green gets buffed.
Aand... I went offline. I... hate mobile phone issues like this.
For demon line, DL25 is about a 10k multiplier with the HoL upgrade tree. Also I have been doing the same build on mobile and have now reached R97. That part of the R took ~ 7 hrs, so R99 is not unthinkable unless they force us to update.

It looks like artcrow's good merc build is better than pagan lizards (fc swapped out for gb when comparing both since i didn't have gb11) on **mobile** in R78 if you swap c300 for c3000 and a105 for a2950 (druid). Not sure if it's better than pagan when comparing the gb11 versions to each other or if it is as effective in 2.7.2.

GB11 is a good 100x boost to production. The offline time required makes the build worth it imo.

I only had 5 billion mana generated by the time i hit R79 gems. I don't remember how many spells i cast when i jumped from e92 to e95, but it took about 18 minutes to get a big enough boost to finish the R after that. Most importantly, this is on mobile (version 2.7.0).

Demonline: The base effect from Demon Lineage boosts every single Hall of Legend upgrade (the ones that give %Production to all other buildings based on Trophycount), the Gembonus can be at 0% for it to be the best second Lineage i have found so far for Production.
Phase 3 and DB/other Spells: The Good Mercenery TC Upgrade (Shared Benefits) makes TC not spammable. This severly limits any gains to "Spells cast". So Phase 3 is used to buff this up for DB:Green,D525,Mana Waste and Holy Crusaders. Only DB6 and FC1 are used since Mps suck in this phase (110k or so) so any extra TCs over Tiers are better since the Phase is not aimed at Production anyway.
Building Jungle: Asc Penalty is applied to its bonus so pretty worthless
Edit: I should also note: Since Fairy Chanting times are upwards of an hour, make sure that the Production Phase includes thes last 10 min of it at least once for the full A30 effect

I've made this build back in R77 and made several changes to it over time, I'm pretty sure it's very close to being fully optimized but there might be something I am missing. If any of you can point out places where I can optimize it, let me know.
It managed to get me through each R in less than an hour, including the 30 minutes to get GB11 with the offline regen build thingie.
R87 tho, in the other hand, took 1h 45m and I'm sure the end of R88 would be a pretty long run, and I don't wanna waste precious event time.
Edit: Worth mentioning I unfortunally am running God's Hand tier 5, don't have enough rubies to timewarp that up. I'm sure that tier alone could've made a huge difference for me to get at least closer to R90.
I've found that the GB11 grow build listed, doesnt work too well for R75/R76, and i've found that blood transfusion build w/ faceless @20 Gives me 600k mps to the GB11 buildups 300k offline.
Why does artcrows R75-77 build have D525 over D1375?
It's a unique building build and I really don't see how D525 would ever get close to 1000% (heck just getting Holy Light to 1000% seems unlikely)

With 2.7.2 I seem to not be able to purchase S50 as evil merc. I know I bought it under 2.7.1 since I attempted my own S50 build then but without A2950 at an earlier R the mana regen sucked.
Anyone have any advice on affording the 400 royal exchanges needed to unlock Dragon lineage on artcrow's R75-76 good mercy build? The mana regen is really pretty low and the faction coin generation is wayyyyyy short of what I need. I'm at 1e90 gems at R76.
