Genetics and Children

So this is from an idea I got from another thread.

If you have or your mate has a genetic illness or deformity that will be or potentially can be passed on to a child then is it morally wrong to pass on your potentially lethal genes to said child? Either they will be seriously sick, or possible deformed, or could have a terribly painful disability, or they could be perfectly fine. Is it wrong or selfish or whatnot to have a child with the scenario stated above? Why or why not?

I know what my opinion is but I’m curious as to other opinions.

I’d say it’s not cool for sure, but morals don’t have to be black and white, I’d say it’s a question of “How wrong?”

Besides, if it’s wanting a kid there’s other paths, adoption and shtuff.

you can see what you can do to possibly isolate that gene out. um you can have your partner dotant egg or sperm depending on gender of course and have a carrier. so the child will be your mates and a carriers but at least the child is one of yours or ya you can adopt.

falos i think your on to some thing there is many was to have a child and care for it. Why not a pet?

Or until that’s an option, genetic screening of embryos.
