The guardian article is talking about a couse led by a specific individual, who has been banned from continuing taching, by the military. The article certainly implies that it was his extremist attitudes towards Islam that led to him being pulled from instruction.

Relying on hate in a combat situation is never a good idea. It clouds your thinking.

Any strong emotion running through your system will cloud your thinking, punisher. Hatred especially, is going to narrow your focus, and you’ll lose situational awareness. You’ll lose the ability to react cooly to the situation, and things will rapidly escalate when it would not be in your best interests for them to.

You also risk coloring the situation with your hatred, and reading threats that are simply not there, when examined with a level head.
