I’m sorry, but you have to explain why it isn’t good?
It’s no good, so there.
What do you not like about the plotline? What’s so confusing about it?
It’s no good, so there.
And how are bronies “Nazi like idiots.”?
Because hyperbole.

Ohoho. I see. The best way to think about it is to not think at all.

My contribution to this thread: the show is fine, or even very good, but the fanbase, for the most part, is screwed up beyond comprehension.

In that case yeah, I guess.

I think I see a pattern developing in my posts in this thread but screw it:
Why not?

Contribution: I like the show for the most part, well made animation, nice and suited voicing, (season two isn’t as good, it’s like the whole series became more of a sellout and a different mood was set from the first), and some bronies are mostly nice and friendly people, I know some do try and force it upon us, they are not to be accounted for as the whole though.
The general fanbase however is just terrible for the most part, people going around “converting” people which to others makes it sound like a cult of sorts.
One thing I don’t understand is, the show is made for children yes, in particular young girls and yet the fanbase is mostly all grown men and male teenagers, how did that happen in the first place?
And no, there is no point in responding here to a comment asking “why” and “how” as I’m damn sure the ones asking do know these things already.

“The fanbase is screwed up beyond comprehension” is hardly a valuable contribution. It’s only logical to ask for clarification. This is SD after all. People who contribute should be able to formulate proper arguments when they try to criticise something.

The character development is shallow and generic. It is pretty much a cast of high pitched happy shrill horses that go on magical adventures that cover different aspects of human interactions and/or life lessons meant for younger than 10 years if age youths. It literally has no plotline, every story is different, that would be fine for me but sadly I am not into learning already learned lessons and watching 30 minutes worth of cartoon logical bullshit adventures. \
You put down certain demographics, anyone who doesn’t watch your little show you claim to “love” and you hate the people who wish you would shut up for once. If you would stop trying to convert everyone you see and put down anyone who dislikes you, maybe there would be peace, finally, between you people, and those who are not you. It is a cute, fun, and well made little kids’ show, but I don’t like it for its qualities. I don’t like your fanbase either.

I’d agree with this, especially the idea that the bronies who sound so surprised that people hate the fanbase know exactly why and are just pretending not to know why.
Tenco in your OT thread you want Kong to make a separate forum for MLP, because one 900 page thread isn’t good enough. That explains why you’re spreading this stuff to SD I guess. But the idea is just completely fucked up, and your reasons for it, like being ‘free from persecution’ are even more fucked up. You sound exactly like a missionary, complete with the creepy ‘nice guy who wants to convert you to our way of thinking’ shtick going on. That’s not hyperbole, that’s how you sound, and even somebody like me who’s pretty soft on religion thinks that is a really disturbing obsession you got going there.

A seperate forum? Can’t they just use their precious ponychan and avoid alienating people they haven’t yet?

There are actually multiple reasons, and different variations on those reasons, so it isn’t too hard to wonder why.
Tenco in your OT thread you want Kong to make a separate forum for MLP,
Well, technically it’s for all bronies, but whatever; and yeah, I kinda do, the same is with a few other people.
because one 900 page thread isn’t good enough.
Well, it does get a little laggy and crowded, so there’s that.
That explains why you’re spreading this stuff to SD I guess.
Not really, I just though that if Solipsism could get a thread, then this could too, and I wanted to hear some other people’s opinions on this subject.
But the idea is just completely fucked up, and your reasons for it, like being ‘free from persecution’ are even more fucked up.
Why’s that, exactly? And when did I share the ideas of being “free from persecution?”
You sound exactly like a missionary,
So I’m brony-Jesus now? Awesome.
complete with the creepy ‘nice guy who wants to convert you to our way of thinking’ shtick going on.
Huh? How’s that?
That’s not hyperbole, that’s how you sound,
To you, maybe. I was just making “persuasive” arguments to balance out the hyperboles made by Goober and other anti-bronies
and even somebody like me who’s pretty soft on religion
Weren’t you the one who said that I brought religion, politics, etc. to this thread?
thinks that is a really disturbing obsession you got going there.
Why is it so disturbing, and why is it suddenly an obsession? Going by your definition, I’m also obsessed with my schoolwork and my health.

I don’t know about you, but I’m not going to go to ponychan anytime soon, I like my non-imageboard forum just fine.

Fuck “love and tolerate,” only a few bronies follow that. At least you actually explained your opinion though, and while I may not agree with it, everyone has their own opinions.

Torpedo, you have single handedly demoted your own people. I would laugh and accept the fact that you are willing to help spread the truth about most of the fanbase, but betrayal, even to ruthless ‘thugs’, can be quite mean.
Thank you for helping, though.
@Tenco -I love how you say “Goober” instead of Namg. I’m not an anti-brony, I just don’t like you people. Yes, you are obsessed. Stop suggesting stupid shit that will make conditions worse if you don’t like that image shithole.

O…Kay?
but betrayal, even to ruthless ‘thugs’, can be quite mean.
How was this betrayal? How was this ruthless, even?

@Tenco -I love how you say “Goober” instead of Namg.
I was just using you as an example, because, you know… You did.
I’m not an anti-brony, I just don’t like you people.
That is, quite literally, one of the definitions of an anti-brony.
Yes, you are obsessed. Stop suggesting stupid shit that will make conditions worse if you don’t like that image shithole.
I would like to see reasonable examples about how I am obsessed, first.

Okay, well, here’s my contribution:
I loved the cartoons that Lauren Faust previously wrote and animated for. However, I was hesitant to approach Friendship is Magic. Nevertheless, I enjoyed it and became a brony. The show has a lot of merits which have been previously mentioned before in this thread. I understand it is a matter of taste, though.
However, I would like to address the issue of “anti-bronies” and “bronies” being obnoxious. There are some bronies which obviously are just spammers and would be spamming something else if they didn’t happen to be bronies. For example, there is a brony (at least, I think he is a brony and not just a troll), whose 95% of posts are dominated by a random image or are simply nonsense (not naming him, but a lot of you probably know of him). And then there’s the fights when anti-bronies and bronies act off eachother when a lot of anti-bronies are simply driven by the desire to hate on bronies.
Now there are some people, like Goobler, which do not like the show but provide some sort of argument behind it. However, the problem I have with such users’ posts is that they are generally vague and not supported. What I mean by “supported” is that while they make these claims, they are not supplemented with an example.
For example, I would be much happier if that when Goobler said “it is pretty much a cast of high pitched happy shrill horses that go on magical adventures that cover different aspects of human interactions and/or life lessons meant for younger than 10 years if age youths” if he said, “For example, in the episode Sonic Rainboom, the plot is overused and dull. It’s basically the plot where one character wants something, another character gets it and brags about it, and then the first character is in a conflict with him/herself. But, the character gets over his conflict and manages to save the other character from some sort of danger and then it all wraps up for this happy ending. It’s generic and uncreative.”
Just like those English papers you had to do in high school where you had to establish your argument and then back it up with a few textual examples, you know.
Edit: Especially for the claims like “Nazi-like idiots”.
