I’m not saying we can’t have it, because we’re probably the first fandoms to be supported by Lauren Faust and by the cast of the Mane 6. It gives us a bad impression.

No shit.
It gives us a bad impression.
I think you mean other people, not us, and I would like to mention two things:
1. This isn’t unique to us, every other fandom has it, and people aren’t complaining about that constantly.
2. No reasonable person would say, “Yeah, they have these good qualities to them, but because there’s pr0n they automatically become the worst people on Earth.”

What I mean by this is that we’re the one of the first fandoms to be actually supported by the writers and creative director, as long with the main voice acting cast.

1. I’m not complaining about it constantly, I just started to think this about 3 days ago.
2. I know it’s not unique, but think about the people who are underage, what happens they are allowed to be on the internet, and they look up My Little Pony:Friendship is Magic, and see something inappropriate? Then they tell their parents, then this whole thing goes haywire.

Okay, what’s exactly your point with this?

Yeah, unfortunately this can work the exact same way for many other things as well, and that the parents should at least be a little more responsible, and monitor them instead of giving them free-reign.

I agree, but there’s some parents who don’t know how to set parental controls, and trust their natural instinct and believe that their underaged daughter or son wouldn’t search for these type of things, or find it on accident.

Not exactly our fault, is it?

No, the parents for being idiots and not learning how to set up parenting controls.

I was just making a point that while it was created by (some of) us, it would be as much our fault as it would be for the person who made the computer that the child used, since it was the intent of it being viewed by people who wanted to see it, though someone who shouldn’t have seen it did.

At first, I thought MLP was the gay, stupid crap I remembered from those old Walmart toys with the brushes, and those creepy ass movies….
I first actually saw the real ponies in a Game informer magazine, where one of the writers said something about the ponies, and bronies got pissed! (I was mocking those bronies to) but there was a picture of the Mane 6 ponies in there, and it wasn’t what I had pictured in my mind at all. After a few weeks my curiosity got to me, and I decided to watch an episode. I didn’t get past the opening song… (they really need to change that….)
Than I was flipping through channels, saw that transformers was on the Hub next, but there were still 10 minutes left in the MLP episode before it… so I decided to endure it… and that’s when I realized it wasn’t the gay G1 crap I knew.
I just like the way the character animation is done, I like the animation from shows and comics like Sonic the hedgehog, Krypto the Super Dog, Pokemon, Foster’s home for imaginary friends, stuff like that.
I just really like the show, i like reading the fanfics (and trying to write some), I love the art, (and trying to draw some..) (not the R34 stuff…) and i love the community!

No I don’t, that was to purpose, my friend. ;)
@AirmanAlexander – You have put faith for your little bandwagon again with me, after all.
You see, I have long awaited for someone to give an answer – sense to someone enjoying the show.
You have thus proven to me, that atleast one person I have seen actually enjoys the kids’ show.
Thank you.
Though it is really unfortunate that I did not have the same enjoyment as you did. But eh, I’m not missing out on anything special, in my opinion, possibly contrary to yours.
:)

Good God, if that’s all you needed as proof, then you could have just gone to EQD, or many of the other MLP fansites out there, it’s not that hard to find.
Hell, this it more than enough proof to see how much people genuinely like this show and its fandom.

Personally, I think the art and music produced by this community is absolutely stunning, but I’m beginning to think that My Little Pony might be a problem for dedicated fans of the show. I’ve had friends who have nearly quit their job/failed school to spend more time on MLP-related things. This seems just a tad too extreme, especially considering it’s over a TV show. Now, I understand why they like the show. For one, it’s a genuinely good show (I’m not exactly a fan, though). Another reason that doesn’t apply to every brony, but is certainly a reason, is MLP allows them to “escape” their real-life problems. The bright, colorful ponies going on adventures makes them feel all warm and happy inside. I think this may be one of the main reasons why some of them become so addicted to MLP. They want that feeling. Ponies are their drug. Just like with real drugs, this can escalate quickly. As I mentioned earlier, MLP starts controlling their whole life. It’s an obsession they can’t seem to shake.
Forgive me if I’m simply exaggerating this, but honestly, it seems like a real problem to me.
Pony Personality Disorder?

Insanity relax. yes some people take it a bit far, this we can not deny. I my self use it as a form of escape when I’ve had a day full of annoying peers or long tests.

No such thing.

Yeah, that’s completely believable, and totally not taken out of context even if it is somehow true.

There are people who devote their lives to a book, this is fine.

Good news; it isn’t.

Honestly, i doubt that quite a bit, I can’t see quitting my job to do more of this, i mean i do other stuff other than JUST watch ponies, And i mean it’s not that addictive, and you don’t spend long times doing it, i would see WoW or other games MUCH more likely to have an affect on someones life.
and the thing about the drug, To be honest i kinda agree with, there was a video that expanded on that theory, the reason why i believe it is because.. i honestly can’t say WHY i’m a brony, and i have to admit, that does fit the picture.
However if that is true, it is MUCH better than any other drug, as it doesn’t have any life ruining affects (and i mean seriously, what do you think is worse, heroin or cute ponies xD)

That’s… Really not that bad at all, really.
No I mean it’s incredibly understandable, and often times people like the show, it’s a form of escape (same as basically every other entertainment media), and sometimes a “better” way to escape the real world, considering some people’s predicaments. (i.e it’s a better stress reliever than other shows.)
Also, bump.

One thing I would like to mention with some of the comments here (the ones about the patch) after a few comments about how it’s “disrespecting the uniform” and such, it finally got cleared up by the person in the picture that it was only for a short while, and that it was done at a time and place when it was okay to do.
Also, bump.
EDIT: Stephen Colbert with ponies? What’s not to love?
