Username Change (Input) (locked)

Kongregate really needs to make it where you can change your username because I made this account back in 2008 and I hate the name I have. “Chicks93” I used that shit in 7th grade and now I am in 12th and it is pretty embarassing. They are gonna end up having me make a whole new account just so I can make my name different which I don’t really want to do because I am level 15 and have awards and stuff like that but hey, that might not seem high too some but it has taken me quite awhile to get up that high. Kongregate please change it. Who else thinks they should do that too?

Not me. Kongregate works on a link structure. By changing your name you would create a new link. This is not only inefficient, it would probably make taking your points over just as difficult/impossible as it is now. A new link basically IS a new account.
If anything, it could be made more obvious that you cannot change your name.

I just hate it, you know this account is from when I was in 7th grade and I have grown and matured and the username just bothers me. But how can you change your name on Twitter or Facebook and still keep everything? but you can’t change it on here?

Simple: they use a different structure. The Kong staff had their reasons to do it that way and that’s simply the way it works. Changing the whole site structure just because some people don’t think before they create a profile that is meant to represent themselves is

It’s not really a big deal. Like EPR said it’s too much of a hassle over something so little. Just make a new account, level 15 is pretty easy to get.

it’s inherent to the context that he hadn’t the option to realise this. kids don’t have that kind of fore-sight, or they wouldn’t make child-like choices to begin with.

Who cares what your name is? It’s your rep and your level that counts. If you saw a guy named shitface91929 that had a level of 103 and is regarded as God by most regulars, you wouldn’t mark him down just because of his name, now would you?
