Now, the serious part is THIS:
Has any site the right to PERMABAN you, as in your PERSON?
What I mean is, your account gets banned for some reason, PERMANENTLY.
You curse and leave the place.
Much later, maybe a month or more, you come by the same site, for whatever reason, and so you want to post.
So you REGISTER again.
The next 10 minutes (and 1 NORMAL comment) – your account is BANNED, AGAIN!
The reason – “double account”.
But the first one was already PERMABANNED!
Meaning, they BAN you for LIFE (or at least your IP)!
I say, this is violating my rights to post NORMAL comments.
DISCUSS!
Another point I just remembered:
“You’re not allowed to discuss mods actions in public” – is a lousy excuse for mods easier abusing users.
I say, each forum site SHOULD have a “complaints book”, where you COULD write your complaints even about the mods/admins.
Otherwise, it’s TYRANNY.
Discuss this too.

not a very Serious discussion.
but aar, can’t you write to an admin or something? if it’s been years you could claim to have aged.
you could also hide your IP.

1. It’s VERY serious, cause it’s about one’s RIGHTS.
And it has relevance to ANY forum site, not just the one I mentioned.
2. No one even wrote me anything, nor did I post anything BAD to “trigger” it – they just “sniffed out” my IP.
Which is kinda weird, cause (I think) I was posting the last time of the previous account from a different IP!
Which makes even less sense.
3. Anyways, I say they have no right to “just ban” people, even if I did make a “double account”, after the first was banned.
(There WAS a break of around a month, and I also wrote on a totally different topic this time.)
They should at least WARN me with a PM, and if I answer rudely or ignore it for a long time, THEN ban me, pretty justifiably.
This does look like a PERSONAL ban, not ACCOUNT ban.
And for me it smells infringing on one’s rights.

You are seemingly confused on the supposed “rights” you have. You have the privileges that the specific site gives you, nothing more. They own the rights to your account and can do with it as they please. However, they won’t go around banning random users as that will give them a bad name, and keep their users away. Your rewriting of the ban really does not improve your argument. It’s not a “personal ban”, it’s still an account ban. They have the full rights to them any way. You don’t have any rights.
Uh-uh, tyranny when you can’t start flaming the crap out of volunteers? That’s what moderators are. A supposed complaint area for admins might work, but that would get infested with trolls posting edited screenshots of admins swearing in chat and silencing them for no reason (when in reality they weren’t).

DR
So, you’re OK to be removed forever from a site you were on for years, due to a one-time argument, right?
My point is, forums are MADE for users, not admins.
Thus, they should not step in the way of NORMAL posting.
And “it happened once long ago” bans shouldn’t prevent users from posting something useful/normal much later.
In other words, “double accounts” should be forbidden, say, ONLY during the same week (after a permaban) at MOST, for the worst trolls.
Otherwise it gets abusive and stupid.
Also, mods HAVE to be accountable for their job – and taking for example civfanatics, the ban there doesn’t let you do ANYTHING, including PMing, which is the only way to complain after being banned.
Who said, the ban was appropriate?
Who’s gonna CHECK that?
Abusive rampage of mods, here it comes…
As in, “there’s only two opinions, mine and a BAN”.
I support troll-blocking, but this must be done with brains, not brawls.
Whatever.
Waiting for more opinions.

I agree with you and understand you Vanguarde. Now that you have hit your 1000th post, you feel it’s okay to come clean and stick it to the man. Good on ya. What will be their excuse now? You’re doing great; keep up the good work.
P.S. I knew it was you when I was arguing with you back at ~200 posts. I can smell your unique, powerful style anywhere. God speed.
