You’re the one making bringing this up, the burden of proof is on you.

I didn’t say that.

first of all Stop Barking At Us, it’s just annoying. secondly, they are obviously deranged men, not something paranormal, but it’s pretty cool. the “what if” sensor certainly tingles.

Ok bob honkey, What would be a first gun you would Get if you were me? i never shot a gun and i ain’t ever even seen a real one. i heard 22 bolt action rifles were the best choice to get.

i would think the only reliable gun against zombies would be a shotgun. but honestly, i would only ever use guns in an emergency. even if you kill one zombie with each 5 bullets or 1 shotgun shell (which is a very naive estimate), and you only kill 1 zombie per day which seems a very low estimate, and never shoot your gun at anything else, 500 bullets or 100 shells will only last you 100 days.
plus, shooting guns is noisy, and for each zombie you’d kill you’d probably attract at least two new zombies to where you’re at.
no, melee weapons and protective gear is what you need. and even that is only for when simply avoiding and/or trapping them fails.

Creeperman18, A bolt action 22 rifle is a good choice for a first gun. Even for Zombie survival. Becuase 22 lr bullets are very easy to find and your hand, If you are New to guns, Won’t get Sore and you can shoot it all day. And like omegadoom said, Guns are noisy. 22 lr are so queit, YOU DON’T EVEN NEED EAR PROTECTION! So silenced 22 weapons are quiet And won’t Disturb some zombies close by ( 20 yards or More yards away zombies) So A 22 bolt action rifle Is a really good chocie. Not bolt action, But a 22 handgun is really good.

that’s very interesting. but i don’t see how that’s going to stop zombies. they don’t die from internal bleeding or other tissue damage. you’d need to get very lucky with that caliber.
anyway, i found on wikipedia that some rifles can shoot both long and short rounds. i’d figure that would be a smart idea, if anything.

22 rounds are very weak. A 22 magnum might do it.

I’m convinced all of the attacks in Florida are simply ploys by firearm companies to increase sales.

Yet u still judge people who use them and the guns themselves?
How odd.

Yes. Because that totally makes sense.

Many indigenous tribes practice(d) cannibalism as a cultural norm, and done so for thousands of years. And yet, no mention of zombie apocalypse until (post)-Romantic history. Why is this? Because zombies don’t exist.

Also, I’ll chip in my two cents for those of you who are concerned:
.22 LR Semi-automatic rifle of some sort would probably be my weapon of choice against the menacing herds of the undead. .22LR’s are notorious for piercing the skull and then ricocheting inside the skull…essentially turning a brain to soup (and I’m assuming that the only place that means anything when you hit a zombie is the skull). The round doesn’t produce much recoil and is very cheap and light. However, given the circumstances that a zombie apocalypse might put you in, one might come across other humans and seeing as though hitting a living human anywhere can result in stopping or faltering the target, I would probably consider carrying something with a bit more stopping power. Any 12 gauge shotgun (loaded with slugs or buckshot of course), 9mm-.45 caliber handgun, or any rifle with a 5.56-7.92×45-57mm (7.92×57 (Mauser) is probably a bit much though) cartridge would be ideal (for me at least) against a human target.

This entire thread is total nonsense from a pragmatic standpoint. in the context of SD.

Zombies, more than likely (99.999%), do not exist. However, you comparing tribes eating human flesh to a man bum-rushing police officers and consuming a living man’s face is not fair at all (for the sake of this thread).

actually, Zombies DO exist. whether you’re talking about humans coming back from the grave to shamble around, or whether you are talking about some sort of parasitic organisms brain-jacking another organism — both exist.
we haven’t seen the former as caused by the latter yet, but there’s theoretically no reason why such should not exist. that’s why the zombie apocalypse has such a persistent popularity. we all know it won’t, but yet it CAN happen.

It’s a pretty crazy though.. ‘’What if’‘. World’s going stupid these days so you’ll never really know anymore. People filing their teeth to be a vampire and even drinking blood.. Vampires are not supposed to exist but there they are. People have become stupid…
