Why does the government have the right to a woman's body, but a woman does not? (locked)

Why is the government allowed to have the right to say yes or no whether women can abort? Why should they have rights to people’s bodies at all? This is the epitome of totalitarianism, and it is despicable. Why does the government have a greater say than a woman in something that in reality only concerns the woman?

Edit: mods, this thread was not solely about abortion but also everything the government is willing to control about women’s bodies. E.g., it also includes contraception. Furthermore, it was supposed to be an in-depth analysis of totalitarianism and women.

Because personhood – especially the beginning of personhood – is not defined yet and because of that the decision is to go for the middle-of-the-road option for now.

Abortion is legal in most first-world countries.

Because abortion is murder and it goes against God’s great will, which is that all life shall flourish under him. Forget that there are millions and millions of starving and abused children, just in the United States alone; it’s a much better use of our time to stress about abortion.
