Children of Illegal Immigrants

The Obama adminstration has proposed the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals and it is currently underway.

Is this a sensible and resonable approach to allowing the children of illegal immigrants to be able to remain and work in the United States…or is this just an encouragement to illegal immigrants to come to the United States?

Illegal immigrants = Europeans and others.

Natives = pre-Columbian inhabitants of North and South America and their descendants.

Typically the illegal immigrants aren’t as well educated or trained as your average American. While it would be too inefficient to keep the adults and educate them the kids will learn much easier and quicker. Not only that but they still have their whole lives ahead of them. So its encouraging kids to work harder in school imo.

It means nothing to Obama personally. It is a political move on his part to gain votes from the Latino community. It ends in two years.

That wasn’t actually the question jhco. Do you personally think that the United States should ‘reward’ hardworking children of illegal immigrants by letting them get a work permit for two years and then deciding after that if they can become full citizens or not?
I can see two sides to this story, one is the human aspect, the fact that the United States has essentially been these childrens home and that they have worked hard and given back to their community…the other side is that this is also rewarding the illegal parents and might encourage more to come over with the hope that their kids will be accepted.

As far as I know there weren’t any laws in place which were against people immigrating into America at that time.
