Sounds good to me.
pmr, if I go look for the homosexual ones (a topic that is constantly repeated), you can go for whatever you want. We can always put them in one post later, this is just a work in progress now.

Can we get some checkers/testers?
The number of links are going to get big pretty soon and it would be lovely for a few people to just check if we all linked them correctly
EDIT: science and philosophy are pretty small, If I have time and no one wants to do them Ill maybe can

Fixed. It’s on the list.

That’s a good idea, although I don’t know if we need to assign specific people for the job. Perhaps just if people randomly checked a few to make sure that it actually fits, and is worth having on the list. There’s no point in having useless threads up here (I’m thinking of the various ‘Give me tips on getting girls’ threads).
EDIT: science and philosophy are pretty small, If I have time and no one wants to do them Ill maybe can
I’ve got a list already of science ones which I can do unless you’re desperate too.
And PFB, that’s perfect :)

yes, that wat I was thinknig of , just if random people tuning in right now could check the links

I don’t think it is a problem if they are in more than one category.

eventually the first post is going to pass the text limit for textile parsing, and the links will have to be converted to html rather than the "": form. I have a script sitting around somewhere to convert the links from "": to the html tags, but try to keep that in mind as you keep building up large posts with a lot of textile dependent formatting.
Also, I’m not sure what the best way to go about this is if you want the first post continually updated. If you guys are going to edit your posts, I guess you should put a note at the top of them in bold about when they were last update. Or you can make new posts and just repost your current list. The latter one would get kind of cluttered though, but I guess we could delete the older posts as we went along.

I think the best idea is to edit the original posts, seeing as there’s no need to keep two copies of the same links.

so do you want the first post empty, and just want to keep re-editing your posts?

No, I was talking about us updating our posts with new threads to go on the first post, as opposed to continuously making new posts with new threads to go up.
They should all be at the top. I suppose if there is a limit to post size we can always persuade pmr to use his to continue the list. And mine, if it really gets that far. We don’t actually need all 1000+ threads up here, seeing as at least a few hundred of them will be pointless to add.
EDIT:
I would probably make more sense now if we just added to the list under any topic, instead of assigning certain topics to certain people. That way, we can make sure it is updated faster, as we’re not waiting on anyone. Obviously, you’d have to check if the thread has already been put up for addition to the first post.
We could add new topics/groups in the same way.

Do you guys really think newbies are going to check this thread before they make a post? People when they come to a forum feel entitled to post – even if there is a thread on it already. Why? Because they want the topic to be THEIRS.
Good luck though…

Wow, well done so far everyone! I had thought this would just overlap with the Big Topics thread I started (and that desperately needs some attention), but this is an excellent resource. Thanks to everyone who’s putting this together! :)

Of course that’s going to happen. Hopefully it might stop some people, though.
What it will do is allow people to see threads that have already been made on various topics that often come up in discussion. Therefore, instead of posting the same argument again and again, you can link to an earlier debate. It makes life easier. It also helps should someone want to find out about something specific; there is a lot of information, links, and fact that goes through this forum. Finally, it’s just nice to have a list of things that have been done before, in case, for any reason, someone wants to find it. There are 69 pages and over 1000 threads, it would take ages to go through them all.
Even so, I’d appreciate a list of all the Vanguarde threads :P
Perhaps one can be arranged :)

You’re very welcome. It’s still far from finished though. I’ve got a list of health related topics on the way and we should probably leave some of the newer threads for a while as there is little point in linking to a thread that has just begun.

I demand a Vanguarde list be made. It is actually a great study into the mind of a bi-polar type 2 chronic depressed mind, with some manic spouts thrown in.
All college kids would eat it up who want to be a therapist.
And also, I just rock. People love the Vanguarde – I know this because when they show hate they really are showing love, and when they show love they are trying to get into my pants.
WONT HAPPEN, MY HAMSTER IS MY LOVER.
about that list?
