Dark, I know you don’t like our Constitution, but keep in mind, it is our Constitution and we are happy with it. As long as you don’t have to live under our laws, be happy and don’t downgrade the country we love.

As for the first two things Tenco quoted, I have similar replies. I don’t dislike your constitution. It could use some changes, but those likely won’t happen. And you need to cut down on these “we” statements. I honestly don’t know how many Americans support the constitution fully.
As long as you don’t have to live under our laws, be happy and don’t downgrade the country we love.
Everyone should be able to discuss and/or criticise a subject, not just the ones you feel should be allowed.

A whole lot of Americans support the Constitution. It is our founding document, why wouldn’t we. Just watch the elections and you will see how many support it. As our country has taken a left turn, down a dirt road that leads to destruction of our way of life, you will see a major correction.
Everyone who is affected should discuss and/or criticize their situation and demand changes. Those who are not affected can only suggest. But even then, they should do so lightly. We in America have had outsiders criticism ad nausea over our Constitution. Excuse us for being jumpy when it keeps popping up in discussion after discussion about how terrible our Constitution is.

That doesn’t prove anything at all, but I’m going to let that point slide, since it’s not like there will be a change any way.

I know of countries that have lived under hard dictators for many, many years. Those people are poor and oppressed. Don’t tell me I can’t argue against what I oppose. I’m not directly affected, but I certainly know what I don’t wish to see in our world. That you’re American doesn’t make you magically more of a valid person to discuss it. It only makes you more allowed to demand changes, as you said, since you’d be affected by it. I don’t demand changes, but I argue my viewpoint is different from how it is now.

To many the Constitution is the law of the land. It has for over 200 years and still is.
You heard me correctly when I said we are on the wrong road and it will be corrected. You can see that Obama is getting desperate in his campaign and his own com-padres in the congress are starting to distance themselves to try and protect their own positions.
Let me correct myself then. We, except Tenco, get tired of the criticism of our Constitution.

Yes, you know of countries that you think are wrong. I think dictatorships are wrong as well, but it is not my place to try and change them. That duty belongs to those who live under that form of government. You can see several countries changing now, if you just look at them.

I don’t believe that law was in the United States, correct me if I’m wrong.
You would think my statement on the election was subjective, but it isn’t. I believe the stunt Obama pulled today with the amnesty thing has cooked his goose.
Yes, I am using we, as the majority of Americans who like our country and it’s Constitution. I did excuse you from the statement, since you don’t seem to care for it.
I said “I” thought they were wrong. Their citizens may think their form of government is great and that is their prerogative. After all, it is their country. I do not pretend to know what is best for people in those countries. And yes, countries do change for time to time, but if you think a forum like this is going to change America because the young people deem it so, you are sadly mistaken. People like me do vote ya know.

It is our founding document, why wouldn’t we. {support it} Well….DUH. BUT, let me point out that “questioning” it—at least NOT en toto—isn’t the same as NOT SUPPORTING it. As I’ve pointed out before: It’s only only the RIGHT of every American (world citizen?) to question their govt.,,,,,it is their DUTY TO DO SO.
Just watch the elections and you will see how many support it. As our country has taken a left turn, down a dirt road that leads to destruction of our way of life, you will see a major correction. What part of how fickle and “trendy” elections are DO YOU NOT UNDERSTAND? Exactly what part of the Constitution is going to be “supported” by the 2012 elections?….Obama out & Romney in? This bullshit of YOURS that Obama, Democrats, “lefties”, parading-around-homos, abortionists, and most anything else that doesn’t fit into YOUR bitoted, biased, intolerant, hateful lifestyle aren’t “Constitutional” (“rabid right” mantra: show me where in the Constitution it sez…) and therefore don’t “support” it is just supreme lunacy.
AND, this lunacy certainly doesn’t seem to be all that of a nature that a rational individual would see as being “in the Spirit of the Constitution”.
Holy Shit, Scatman….small wonder much of the world has such a dim view of we Americans. While there is a smattering of merit to what jhco sez…..it is THE WAY HE SAYS IT that is odious.
I welcome criticism (of a rational, mature, etc. nature). It helps me grow….it points out areas that I haven’t yet “explored”….in regards to my ideology, etc.

You heard me correctly when I said we are on the wrong road and it will be corrected. YOU hold onto that “pipe dream”. Just because YOU aren’t able to see//know just what a road is,,,let alone whether it is the right one or NOT,,doesn’t actually mean we are on the “wrong one”.
“Wrong” is sooooooooo SUBJECTIVE…. only an idiot would build much of ANY ARGUEMENT around it.
You can see that Obama is getting desperate in his campaign ….. AND…I can see much the same rabid, all-out, hell-bent-for-leather desparation in Romney….SO?
…and his own com-padres in the congress are starting to distance themselves to try and protect their own positions. SO? Old news….er, SNOOZE.
Let me correct myself then. We, except Tenco, get tired of the criticism of our Constitution. Only a pussy, whiny, insecure, immature dolt is unable to handle rational “criticism”. It’s when such differing opinions are being jammed either down my throat or up my ass that I tend to take a weeeebit of “exception” to the practice. Ya know, on issues such as abortions, Gay Rights, etc. and how some ppl want THEIR IDEOLOGY to be the “law of the land”.

Well good evening Karma.
I can’t argue that a lot of Americans don’t know much about our Constitution. Maybe we should blame that on our schools and their misrepresentation of the Constitution when/if they even teach it. Many do take it for granted, but that is why we older guys must bring it to the forefront. No matter what side of the scale you and I sit on, it is up to us to keep it visible.
I have no problem with questioning some of the Constitution, but what is happening is a political movement to completely do away with our Constitution. They are going way out of their way to ignore it. This is exactly what Obama is doing. Take the latest amnesty attempt. Did Obama go through the Congress on this move? Did he even consult with the Immigration bureaucracy? No, he went to Homeland Security. He usurped the Constitution and it’s three equal branches of government and let them make law. It was unconstitutional. All of the laws he is pushing on us are done without congressional approval. This is not the way our form of government is supposed to work and he is digging a hole for himself. I understand elections quite well, thank you. I have been around as long as you have and I have not been asleep.
This so called bigoted view I have is not lunacy, it is well thought out and your problem is I am not alone in my thinking and it just galls you to realize that. Then you push your agenda at me saying I am not rational because I won’t accept your idea of how you think life should be. what did you say, “in the spirit of the Constitution”? You know as well as I do your idea of the world is not working and won’t work because it is not accepted by the society we all live in. Sure, there are some numskulls out there like you, but you are a minority. As much as you try, you are not going to corrupt America to fit your needs.
You know, it is not necessary to change our Constitution to fit the world. They have their way of life and we have ours. I said what I said to Darkruler so he would understand it is not his job to educate our country in the ways of how the Netherlands or any other country think we should live. If they don’t like it or America, so be it.
There you go again. Your last paragraph says it all. If you can’t accept your smallness in this world and can’t convince others to come around to your point of view, call them names. This is a common failing of the Democrats and you present it excellently.

That sounds rather arbitrary. Why? Besides, it’s our world. We still live on the same planet. We’re still affected (if sometimes only in small ways) if another country lives under a terrible dictatorship. We are still correct if we argue it doesn’t sound like a proper place to live and should be changed. We are simply less able to change it.
You know, it is not necessary to change our Constitution to fit the world. They have their way of life and we have ours. I said what I said to Darkruler so he would understand it is not his job to educate our country in the ways of how the Netherlands or any other country think we should live. You keep on assuming every single citizen in the country agrees. And if they don’t? Shut up and leave.

Hell, I’d be happy if high school graduates could actually read (at least at the 12th grade level). Then, they might better have a chance at searching out just what these “self-evident truths” are.
I have no problem with questioning some of the Constitution, but what is happening is a political movement to completely do away with our Constitution. Oh, gawd…here comes the “rabid right’s” boogeyman…..complete w/ a side order of jhco’s famous “exaggeration stew”.
They are going way out of their way to ignore it. AND, ya know this…..how? Do YOU know how to say: It appears to ME.
This is exactly what Obama is doing. Take the latest amnesty attempt. Did Obama go through the Congress on this move? Did he even consult with the Immigration bureaucracy? No, he went to Homeland Security. It is my understanding that he used the CONSTITUTALLY correct use of his Executive Powers. His entire “program” on this is to have Congress “verify” his Order.
He usurped the Constitution and it’s three equal branches of government and let them make law. It was unconstitutional. All of the laws he is pushing on us are done without congressional approval. Blah…blah…blah. Show me how he is circumventing the Supreme Court? Do YOU not realize Congress can override his EO?
This is not the way our form of government is supposed to work and he is digging a hole for himself. I understand elections quite well, thank you. I have been around as long as you have and I have not been asleep. NO…ya’ve been somewhat wide-awake and using bias & ignorance to glean what ya want//need to support many (most?) of your biases.
This so called bigoted view I have is not lunacy, it is well thought out…. And, an alcoholic doesn’t think they have a drinking problem.
…. and your problem is I am not alone in my thinking and it just galls you to realize that. First: while YOU aren’t “alone in your thinking”….YOU tend to greatly inflate//exagerate how many do RATIONALLY AGREE w/ ya. Second: what actually “galls” me is how YOU and those other rabid lunatics soooo smugly, ignorantly, irrationally deceive them selves—via many of the vehicles YOU demonstrate here on this forum—into thinking they are in possession of a most righteous revelation of political thought.
Then you push your agenda at me saying I am not rational because I won’t accept your idea of how you think life should be. Good gawd, man….do YOU ever read what YOU write? YOUR interpretation of MY presenting MY opinions—opinions that are different than YOURS,,,present rebuttals to them—is sooooo YOU and how YOU usually distort the truth in order to bolster YOUR point.
what did you say, “in the spirit of the Constitution”? You know as well as I do your idea of the world is not working and won’t work because it is not accepted by the society we all live in. AND, I can say the exact same thing about YOUR ideology. Sure, yours appears to work. THAT is because the wealthy can do a damn fine job of making it appear so.
Sure, there are some numskulls out there like you, but you are a minority. As much as you try, you are not going to corrupt America to fit your needs. AND…I’ll say the same about YOU. Does Gay Rights & abortion ring a bell?
You know, it is not necessary to change our Constitution to fit the world. Who is espousing THIS load of crap? Show me who is saying this.
They have their way of life and we have ours. AND, lest YOU forget…many Americans have their “way of life” that is different from this “ours” ya speak of. We Americans are hugely DIVERSE……we are NOT all like YOU.
I said what I said to Darkruler so he would understand it is not his job to educate our country in the ways of how the Netherlands or any other country think we should live. If they don’t like it or America, so be it. Good grief, now we are down to 5 y.o. mentality for understanding what other ppl say. ""his job""?….to ""educate""?…""think we should live""? Dood, there is a huge difference between what YOU gleaned from what Dark said and the fact that EVERYONE IN THE WORLD has a “right” to an OPINION about how we Americans conduct ourselves and how such affects the world. In fact, what Dark said is most poignant and should be something that is well understood by world-citizens….esp. Americans: ""I’m not directly affected, but I certainly know what I don’t wish to see in our world.""
…to “educate”? Since when did SHARING OF INFORMATION//OPINIONS arrogantly jump to the level of “educate”? Someone here is waaaaaay too “sensitive”….and, likely should stop being either a master-of-exaggeration or being offensively “my-country,,luv-it-or-fuck-you-&-leave-it”.
…“any other country think we should live”? Seriously? SERIOUSLY? When was the last time the Netherlands went to war….attacked another country because it wanted to cram “democracy” down its throat?
There you go again. Your last paragraph says it all. If you can’t accept your smallness in this world and can’t convince others to come around to your point of view, call them names. This is a common failing of the Democrats and you present it excellently. Blah…blah…blah. Every last bit of that can be— AND IS—said about YOU.
Hmmmm….“call them names”: ""Sure, there are some numskulls out there like you,..""
And yes, countries do change for time to time, but if you think a forum like this is going to change America because the young people deem it so, you are sadly mistaken. People like me do vote ya know. SO? These young ppl ARE the future. What they “deem” will certainly become fact….they likely will vote. AND, you & I won’t be around to have ANY KIND OF INFLUENCE on their decisions.
YOU like to tout how our generation “MUST educate” this younger one. Well, regardless of how YOU view MY posts,,,calling them rants, coming from a person who is….well, names that get YOUR posts deleted,,,it is my intent to provide some “education” that opposes YOURS and (hopefully?) provides them w/ some “tools” & data to see that “opinions vary” and that in order to live a life & make decisions that greatly affect them….they obviously will need to understand just how varied opinions can be and how they should look to see what is motivating those opinions.
Yes, but of course, I “skewer” your opinions here on this forum rather “harshly”. I see it somewhat as “fighing-fire-w/-fire”. YOUR opinions merit it…esp. when they are of a nature ya present on issues like Gay Rights, abortion, welfare recipients (entitlements), illegal immigrants, “ObamaCare”, etc. The very fact that YOU greatly over-exaggerate most nearly EVERYTHING (using “we” when it is completely ambiguous) calls for strong consternation and equally strong reaction to it.

Nice Karma. Here I come on here in a good mood and you try to bring me down. Have you ever wondered why a lot posters don’t answer your posts? It’s because it is extremely hard to follow them. You mix your hatred for conservatives in with your points and it waters your posts down. This last post was really organized, but it only dealt with me. I would love to discuss the topic old fella.

Not really. I usually scan them, though. They are mostly rants about me or the conservatives. Almost everyone of them is the same. He takes a word or two out of my post and writes an essay on them while name calling and downing the conservative political views. I think he believes if he repeats it all enough it will become reality.
