The world won’t end in 2012- Even mayans today disagree. Face it. It is basicly just a game of numbers. December 20th is the date 20/12/2012. Notice anything? Now try this. Go a few thousand years higher- to Dec. 30 3012- still works, right? 30/12 3012. But it doesn’t go any higher, because there is is no Dec. 40th. So the world will end in 3012!!!, if you go by the rule. Totally logical.
If you disagree, please tell me- this is only my opinion.

Yet another 2012 thread… when will it end? On the plus side, if the world will end in 2012, it will put a stop to these threads.

No, it will end in 2012. There will be Euro 2012 in Poleland, and Earth will explode due to the sheer fail of the situation.
As for serious, not then.

The reason we think its going to end is because some mexican priest-astrologer stared at the sky and said:
“Gee… that obviously means that the gods that people in the future will know dont exist are trying to tell us something!” “I bet they are for no logical reason tryiong to put in this collection of almost randomly placed suns a message that is only visible on Earth!” “I get it! they must be trying to tell us that they are going to kill us all for no reason, on this completely meaningless date far in the future!” “Of course, they could have just placed some stars there because they thought they look nice, but my theory is far more likely.”
Now, that meaningless date has come, and we are debating it on online forums. How low we have sank.

Poleland

Sorry.
The reason we think its going to end is because some mexican priest-astrologer stared at the sky and said:
Absolutely nothing. They simply stopped the calender after a certain period of time, kind of like Hallmark does every single year. People just attribute meaning to that innocuous ending because their lives are hollow and devoid of meaning.

The numbers mean nothing, it is about the sun having a Binary Star meaning 2 stars hook each others gravity, then when the sun comes near (but still very far from earth) it will disrupt a big load of asteroids (maybe the astroid belt, but not sure) then they come hurtling towards earth and break it. And the Egyptians, Mayans, Aztecs, Christians ect have predicted the same date.

I agree with the thesis, but not with your explanation. It’s as bunk as the 2012 stuff.

A binary star is two stars that orbit each other. You’re wrong about that. And the Mayan’s calender ended in 2012 like your calender at home ends in December this year, and the Aztecs didn’t predict squat, and the Egyptians didn’t either, and as a Christian I’m really pissed off that you would use my religion as an excuse for crazy predictions. Let’s see how all the other groups feel about it… surprise, surprise, they think its a complete load of crap. I wonder how the Egyptians, Aztecs, and Mayans feel about people making crazy claims about their religion.

The world will not end in 2012 because there is no reason for it to do so. Please, has anyone shown any valid scientifical evidence supporting this? Or are people just interpreting like the voters interpret Obama?

I tought the title of the forum was Serious Discussion. Please, the world isn’t going to end in 2012 and the people who think that it will are dangerously deluded.

here is an other bet for you. 100 times your money back if the world, universe or all of humanity ends within 7 days of 21-12-2012. 150 times if it happens exactly on 21-12-2012. no money will be returned if the end of the world happens earlier or fail to happen at the given dates.

No, they really did, check wiki if you dont beleive me. And hook each others gravity means orbitting each other.

Bwahaha.
But yeah, I don’t… I mean…
I just…
I’m not all that scientifical, but the whole binary star nonsense seems like.. nonsense. Not to mention being affected by gravity and orbiting are different things entirely. >.>

No, their are many stars that are binary, but they sort of orbit where the gravity is strongest, which is right in the middle.

I’m sick and tired of your trolling. If you can’t provide a source, you’re claims are worthless, and you’re wasting everyone’s time.
