Since when did showering with a gay man automatically mean that he’d assault and sodomize you?
Honestly, I see nothing wrong with nudity. Nope. I’ve never been to a nudist colony but I can’t see it bothering me much. Skinny dipping, walking around the house, etc. are things I’m perfectly okay with. I’ve been to a mixed beach before, believe me, after seeing the physical shape of some of the nudies there, all self-consciousness goes right out the window.

I didn’t say that I was afraid of getting raped, I just feel uncomfortable.

I apologize, most people with that opinion usually try and justify it with a totally ridiculous reason like that. :) Eh…I dunno I guess I understand, if you equate it to, say, showering with a girl you don’t know. I can’t imagine I’d hop into a bathtub with a guy I never met before, either. Likewise with a lesbian I wasn’t familiar with, but honestly, the ones I do know I’d have no qualms with them seeing my body. It’s not like they see me as a HOPA.

Do ya know the “source” of this discomfort?
If ya do…..will ya share it?
For me,,,, I really could NOT care less about what ppl think of my BODY.
Of more concern is what they think of my beleifs//ideas.
AND,,, what is concern of any real merit is what they do//act upon such thinking (of theirs).
This doesn’t mean that I would present myself (clothed or NOT) in an attempt to shock,,be vulgar//crude//offensive,,,be insensitive. All this would be something “generated” from ME.
BUT, after “consulting my concience” and I find my INTENT (being nude) is “pure”,,,,,,THEN, what others think of it is their “problem”.

LOL,,,, yeah…. a BATHTUB is a weeeeee bit more “personal” manner of bathing than showering……BUT, it can most certainly be much more “interesting”. 0_~
AND,,,, fershur, if a sexual attraction//arousal is involved w/ nudity (or even “clothed”—he had a fine “rise in his Levis”)…..usually there is a great amount of “awkard moment” involved. While there is usually NOTHING WRONG about such “responses”……it has yet to catch on as a “true compliment”….lol Although I did “win” my current wife w/ just such an “honest compliment” (while we were dancing).
Most humans….esp. Americans, are very “uptight” about their very essential sexual nature.
They obsess over it far too much,,,,,do far too little about//with it…..until it is much too late to be any too effective about it anyway. Sad, really.

I couldn’t find the words to explain it, but this best fits it.

It would be nice if everyone was comfortable naked – everybody would be more comfortable with themselves. Nudity is really quite natural and people seem to be against nature too much. It would also probably make people feel better about themselves – seeing real people naked as opposed to the fake bodies everywhere else.
And the amount of people saying they’d go to a nudist colony happily – but only if they were clothed, is a bit selfish/mean :P
Edit: I think things could probably improve a lot if humans were more open about human things.

Not everyone would be happy visiting a nudist camp,. No-one with body dystopia would go easily, because of the extent of frankly hatred towards the body they have.
Likewise, you will get resistance from a lot of assisted amputees, unless they are wearing silicon sheaths – artificial skin – to cover the prosthetics. There is a lot of self-consciousness about such, to many, although I don’t have data on exact numbers.

On reading this thread, I had to afford myself a wry smile that the country with the world’s biggest porn industry is inhabited by so many self-conscious people. I always thought prudishness was Britain’s prerogative.
And in answer to the OP, years ago I was travelling in Europe with some friends, and we stayed at a hotel in southern Germany. On enquiry, we were told it was safe to swim in the lake down the road. When we got there, we found lots of people there already, all of them parading round naked. So we just joined in. The only embarrassing thing was that we had taken swimming costumes. Nobody took a scrap of notice of us, and it was a blast. You really ought to try it sometime.

Personally I’d think that was an asset. I’d feel like Terminator: Pornography Edition! Walking around with my metal appendages – that’s be neat. Then again it’s no secret I’m totally bats.

I wonder if nudist fundamentalists would consider that clothing.

I was about to question the fundamentalism of a groups such as the nudists, but then I realized EVERY group has fundamentalists, even the persecuted and misunderstood ones. Sigh.

Yup. Though if it’s individuals at least it isn’t a social issue at least.

I would go fully clothed as a protest to nudity and claim segregation is in effect in the country if I am kicked out. Furthermore, if I am forced to strip, I am filing for sexual abuse.

Most nudist camps won’t kick you out for not being nude, and definitely won’t make you strip.
And I was under the impression that a private club could have its own rules anyway?

I can’t be kicked out for wearing clothes. If so, I can be kicked out for being hairy and not revealing all of the skin I could be. Is that grounds for kicking someone out?

You might be politely asked what you’re doing there; seeing as you’re a clothed person hanging around a bunch of naked people, it might look a little bit suspicious.
Not sure why hair is an issue though, that seems a contradiction.

Clothing covers the body, as does hair. Why would hair be allowed and not clothes? Double-standard imposing nudist fascists.

A quick search says yes, at least some clubs or whatever will…

I’ve never seen a person so hairy that it would replace clothes.

Clubs will kick people out for wearing clothes, or for being hairy?
