If you make a new thread, make sure the topic is something that can be discussed or is relevant to the forum. The opening post should be more about inviting discussion and asking rather than asserting.

Provide justification for what you say when possible.

Obvious things like: don’t post sexually explicit links, spam, excessive profanity.

tbh, i don’t know if there are any legal implications there, and i don’t think there’s any case where it would be necessary to post it or find out right now. so no.

Well I wasn’t really saying I was about to post porn, I guess I’m just asking whether you hold the posters of links responsible for links’ content as much you would their posts even if they add disclaimers.

Fear of hell isn’t why I make moral decisions. Something similar applies to time I spend on forums.

I don’t see why we shouldn’t be able to, as long as it’s clearly relevant to the topic at hand, and you don’t inline them. After all, a discussion about “Is pornography art?” will pretty clearly have links to examples.

I don’t see any good reason to include inappropriate links even with disclaimers. This is still primarily a gaming site with younger kids and we don’t need to be the ones pointing them anywhere questionable. We don’t want to have to say ‘stay out of Serious Discussions young ones, it’s for adults’ either.

Should there be personal problems allowed in Serious Discussion? I understand if they shed some light on a wider issue, but many of them…just don’t.

There are forums for self-help all over the internet, I just don’t see why so many decide to use this forum…which is ostensibly not for such a purpose.

I feel they should be allowed, as long as this doesn’t turn into a counseling forum.

That’s going to be rather difficult when most personal problems discussed are discussed because they need to talk with other and are looking for feed back.

If it should be posted anywhere, it should be here. I’m just saying, as long as it doesn’t take over the main purpose of the forum.
