Fairness

Is fairness a real thing that we all have a right to, or merely an illusion? Does everyone have the rights to the same things, or are there some things we are given (seemingly) arbitrarily?

Its a concept created by man to justify their complaints for better treatment. It is an ideal rather than a reality. I think that we do indeed strive to achieve fairness but it is ultimately a subjective concept that can never be a fully achieved reality.

Are you differentiating between fairness and equality? I think we all do have the right to equal treatment under the law, but it seems to me that the ultimate fairness would be Communism, no?

It doesn’t exist, and I can’t imagine it existing in the forseeable future. However, it is a good thing to strive for.

Everyone is born with three rights.

The right the live.
The right to think.
The right to be free.

fairness is a totally impossible concept all humanity strives for, there is no way to be fair to a whole with us being able to think because everyone has their opinions of free, an example would be capitalism vs. socialism, one says its fair to keep the money you earn, the other says its fair to help disadvantaged people, both are fair, yet both contradict, thus making neither fair, and in our world there is always something counter acting everything that to us might seem fair,

for example, to a normal human flipping a coin is a fair way to randomize results, but in reality, it is all predetermined by unfair preset factors like how hard its flipped air resistance etc.

even communism isnt fair. i for example would be the worst communist ever. i would do absolutely no work for anything because i would know that no matter how much or how little work i did i would get the same number of resources. now thats very fair to others who do work now is it?

sgt, in a true communist community, if you didn’t work, you would be kicked out.

Or killed.

Or simply not given the resources necessary to live.

or eaten……….

but as a said before there is no fair society, not communism, not anything because there is always that one flaw in it that makes it a real society not a hive that just does something because thats what we think we need to, and i am fine with living in an unfair world because i dont want to be in some kind of wierd “fair” world where i have a small opinion if at all

Sure, it’s a man made concept, but that does’nt make it any less important.

I mean, look at art, music, writing, and language. All, for the most part, man made or human instinct.

oh i understand that we all want fairness, im just stating its impossible because most people want whats fair for them, someone who inherited all their wealth doesn’t think its fair to share some of his wealth while someone less fortunate thinks it is, so when you say fairness is important, that statement makes no sense since everything is fair in a way
