Nonetheless, if everyone decides not to abort their babies “Aww, how precious and cute.”, the world’s population will rise exponentially, and it’s not that complicated to predict what comes after that…

Sigh. Please don’t jump around to whatever conclusion sounds fantastic to you. The population will still be kept in check by resource limitations, disease, natural disasters, crime, etc. I don’t know of too many animal species that practice systematic, deliberate abortion, yet none of them seem to have overrun the Earth yet.

Well that sure…doesn’t support you point. Considering abortions are likely more frequent now than before. It also does nothing to address the fact that populations can never exceed the available resources.

The idea of being limited to the minimal diet required displeases me. What, a cup of water each day and a loaf of bread? No thanks. (Some people have to deal with less today, but it only shows the more population, the more resources become scarce.)

In USA today, sure, things may be fine and dandy, but who is to say that in 40 years, the next generation has enough food to eat?

Fortunately things don’t work in extremes, so you probably will never have to worry about that. Limited resources does not mean they will all be spread evenly any more than excess resources means everyone will get a decent share. Just look at the world and you will see both concepts illustrated; for the former we see people living large in poor African states, and for the latter we see people starving in the streets of the most economically powerful nation on Earth.

If there “isn’t enough to eat,” then the excess population will die off. Simple as that. My whole point about population caps here is that a limit will be reached no matter what you do; there is no reason to strip rights away from people because something bad might happen hundreds, thousands, or millions of years in the future. The moment you take away rights for what might be is the moment we cease to be a democracy, freedom loving state, or whatever amusing but promising term you want to call our country.

Dying of starvation is not a pleasant thing.

I don’t think males have any say in abortions, and Kongregate is mostly full of males.
Female body = female choice. Being female, my choice is “yes”. Abortions rock.

You should wait until you are pregnant before deciding. Abortions are expensive you know.

Not in England, they’re included on the NHS. They’re practically used as contraceptive in some situations.

Only according to Lord Steel, providing no actual evidence for it either.

Well then, how about this:

Don’t really consider those statistics to be that bad to tell the truth. Something to keep an eye on sure, and give a bit more funding to, but abortion is by no means seen as a contraceptive by the vast majority of people in the UK.

This is going to go into semantics about the use of ‘some’ and ‘nigh on zero’ .

Well, I agree about it not being used often, I was just making the point.

an abortion would have to cost a shitload to be “expensive”.
you know. considering how much babies cost. you have to feed them and pay attention to them for large chunks of time, etc.

What are you talking about? There is no need to jack up the cost to fit your moral standards. Should we raise the price of hot dogs because PETA thinks animals are worth more than we value them at?

The price is based on the costs of the procedure, not your personal whims.

way to put words in my mouth, jackass. :V

(i’m pro subsidizing killing babies, for future reference. just saying that <$500 is going to be way cheaper than a baby.
if you’re using abortion instead of a condom or whatever, then yes it’s expensive. i’m pretty sure abortions are more of an “i changed my mind” or “oshit the pill was just sugar” or “ew rapist spawn” sort of thing, though.)

You sure it’s going to be a McNugget? The one on the left looks more like a turkey dinosaur to me.

Sorry for the bump, was just looking for an abortion topic after that other one died. As my insensitivity to the dwarxe’s question probably shows, I am pro-choice simply because most mothers are unfit anyway in today’s society so it’s better to have a more children who’s lives are of much better quality than a quantity of poor neglected children.

If you don’t want a baby then you shouldn’t have sex, simple as that. Sex is a privelege not a right. It should be saved for mariage. Unfortunatly people want instant gratification and therfore you have abortion.
