I’m making this thread about gay rights before I log off, personally I like the thought of gay marriage, etc, but what do you think?

I take it you assume gays have rights…

A better world…?

I always try hard to try and understand the opposing viewpoint, most of the time I do understand, gay rights is not one of these.

Pro gay rights here.

For someone under 16: Raise the driving age from 16 to 80. Why do they care? It doesn’t affect them, they’re not between the ages of 16 and 80…

Doesn’t really work though.

Everyone will eventually become 16, and thus will be affected by this. You won’t change race of gender.

Unless the AX is that you will die before your 16th birthday the scenario doesn’t fit.

gays deserve the rights that everyone else has. it’s not like we’re lesser for being attracted to the same gender. and for the record, i would be okay if slavery were still around, because it would be the norm. i would be taught that slave were a good and necessary part of society. i’m glad today that slavery isn’t around (for the most part) anymore, but the point remains. gays are not some sort of horrible abomination against god. we merely are. just as heterosexuals are, we are. are what? nothing. just are. there’s your friggin intelligent response.

How can you abhor the restriction of rights for some but allow others to have them eliminated?

i just realized many people on here fight for gay rights and rights of criminals but not the rights of gun owners? what gives guns are bad? thats gunism guns can be good same as a homosexual could be good or bad. so why not guns?

ehhh i wouldnt try to stop the homosexual agenda i just wouldnt protest for them if i was at the voter booth id say yes to them. but its really just something im indifferent on. be yourself that should be the right of everyone.

What I believe GodofFiction is saying, is that if he lived in the 1600 western Europe, he would probably have thought of slavery as something normal, because it had been indoctrinated into an accepted way of buissness in those days. But now when people are more enlightened, he is aware of what slavery actually involves, and thus choose not to support it.

The Columbine Incident is one factor. Easy access to lethal weapons does not actually decrease the chance of events like that to happen, eh?

I’m not sure if you were replying to me or in general, but I’m a big proponent of the second amendment… I’m just not as vocal about it as I am gay rights. I feel like the latter is the bigger fish to fry at the moment, you know?

Gays can’t ‘accidently’ kill people in the same way as guns. It is the immediate threat that makes people more cautious.

im sure accidentally perforating a colon would be quite serious. but you still use the fallacy that guns kill. which they dont. people kill people they just use a gun. i mean if there were rampant stabbings would you say knives kill. do cars kill or do drunk drivers?

Homosexuality should not ever be something by which one is discriminated. “Gays” should not have “gay rights” they should have human rights, as should all other humans. Among those rights is the right to marry.
