This question is killing me. I feel like exploding whenever I think about religion, but as a Christian, I have to. I mean, science is inevitable; if God didn’t want it, he should’ve destroyed it. It’s driving me insane! What do YOU think?

I don’t see as to why not. When talking about a deity, nearly anything is possible.
However, this completely differs from what I believe in.

I’ve personally never heard anyone ever say this on the internet. EVER!
Honestly, if you’re Christian, interpret the Bible, try to look at it in a metaphorical sense.

Yes you should read the Bible… it contradicts A LOT of scientific discoveries (evolution being one of them).

I have my spritual beleifs but Christianity is to far fetched. I mean, Niklous Cornipercus was burned at the steak for proving the church wrong. And back then everything was taken seriously, so when it comes to evolution, i think the church contradicts itself a lot. As in, they had a go at Darwin and denied it all, then as soon as it was figured out that he was more or less right they quickly changed their mind and interpreted the bible differantly.

Keep in mind that the bible was written by humans who didn’t discuss much of evolution.

I’ve said it before. I live by that dogma. God made the universe, got bored as hell, tweaked some things, BOOM! Earth. It would be like a game of Spore, essentially, but on a infinite scale.
EDIT: Kind of important bit. He laid down rules of the universe. And he only occasionally tweaks them.

Interpretation is key. One cannot take things literally. Otherwise, gays should burn in hell and no one could eat shellfish. Not a very pretty picture.

Hear this out, Likan. For it will explain much:
Okay. The universe. Big bang. You probably know about the big bang, so I’ll skip that part. Universe is formed. Universe gets sucked into black holes. Black holes fall apart. Matter floats around pointlessly. Gravity attracts all things on a minimal scale. So, matter comes together. Forms a large mass. Repeat big bang. That’s the short short version. So, it pretty much repeats itself. Like deleting your old Spore files to start a new game.

Who’s to say the universe is in an infinite loop?

It’s a little theory of mine. Never really presented it before. I think it is. Sure would suck if I was wrong and it didn’t.

Being bored. Did you read my post? It is saying that he does the same thing. He is bored and lonely. So he makes a planet full of interesting people. He watches them The universe ends. He might save them. He might not.

It repeats, so what he does repeats. Like playing a game of Spore.

He made other people earlier. Perhaps he saved the original humans and remade us on a similar planet. He wasn’t bored forever.

Maybe we are the original humans. Why not import them into a new universe?

We like to have a comfort zone. If everything came from randomness, it makes us feel like we have less meaning.
Here’s a short story by Douglas Adams that may help you see what I mean:
. . . imagine a puddle waking up one morning and thinking, ‘This is an interesting world I find myself in, an interesting hole I find myself in, fits me rather neatly, doesn’t it? In fact it fits me staggeringly well, must have been made to have me in it!’ This is such a powerful idea that as the sun rises in the sky and the air heats up and as, gradually, the puddle gets smaller and smaller, it’s still frantically hanging on to the notion that everything’s going to be alright, because this world was meant to have him in it, was built to have him in it; so the moment he disappears catches him rather by surprise. I think this may be something we need to be on the watch out for.
What this is saying is that maybe we are just here by random, and that we exist because of it, or we wouldn’t even exist to question it’s randomness. This is where God comes into play, to give meaning, to give us purpose. So we don’t feel so alone. Doesn’t make him any more real than any other notion, but the idea gives people hope.
