I’m a game design major in college and I want to submit my own and my team’s work in Unity at the end of this semester (multiple classes are working in Unity, two different games). In one course I’m working alone and in the other I’m in a team of seven (though I’m the only one on the team with any serious coding experience so I’ll be actually making the game and they’ll be level design and art assets (the focus of the course is clean 3D art and lighting, so per requirements I’ll be handling some of that as well.) Anyways, my question is, if I do plan on submitting these when they are completely finished (probably with extra work post class to make it larger than the demo size necessary to submit); should I incorporate API during my original coding or the project or would I be perfectly alright to not use it then add it in after the game is finished as a general executable? [If you are wondering, yes, the way the program is set up every game major specific class makes a different demo rather than working together on a larger complete project.]

In other words, “do I need to worry about incorporating it as the game is being developed (taking away from things I’m actually graded on) or could it be added to a finish game with minimal snags?”
