Public domain content?

I know technically CC doesn’t offer non-attribution licenses anymore, but if content is obtained under such a license (CC or otherwise), is it still allowable under the developer rules?

The only touch of the topic in the FAQ is:

“[…]uploaded games (including all components of games, such as audio) must be your original work or work you have permission to upload from the owner.”

If it’s under a commercial license that doesn’t require attribution (or even one that does), such as public domain, for instance… is that still available to use? Is it Kong-legal? Ideally if no one has a claim to it then the original artist has effectively given everyone automatic permission, right?

I just want to make sure since the language as it stands now seems a bit ambiguous.

Public domain content is fine to use in commercial games. ;)

Awesome. Just wanted to make sure Kong didn’t have any further restrictions or summar. Thank ya, suh!

No problem at all. I’ve had plenty of concerns about this kind of thing myself.

Good luck with your project. :D
