Just a quickie.
Got a chance to play couple of games today with swarm, winter and iron.
The first impression is really bad with FC nerfed to the ground BUT:
- swarm’s QoH is now 7 mana giving us time to build up the board’s presence.
- winter rush works really well even with 0 movement rockworkers
- winter mono-knights is still super strong
- BED is back baby!
- swarm deck need adjustments but is perfectly winnable even with HH on 7mana
- ironclad is not that strong even with l5 epics
- shadowen is a killer (with and without mama yoda).
The games are longer, but only by 1-2 turns.
The quest economy needs fixing:
- 1fs is a joke for a ho20 player
- rubies add 2 extra mythic books a month, nice
- gold is a disaster: 1000g for upgrade + 1200-1500 for brawl is just impossible to achieve with work and family.
Additionally, we should see more changes and improvements with the next update: 30+ units buffed
I know that it hurts to see your decks ruined but make it an opportunity to try something new.
See ya in the game.

NGL it's pretty shitty to get 1Fusionstone for having to mindlessly spam 25Spells.
But atleast it's Fusionstones. I think Brawl really need Rework if this is the new normal.

That's not enough. They fucked up economy completely with this move. The player base target changes from constantly playing some minutes a day to grinding some hours a day.
And this FS part seems nice (if it gets corrected to maybe 5 FS per Tier 3) BUT... players are losing their common source in every case. Which means that _rares_ are the new _legends_ xD. It's super bad for new players building up a cardpool.
Combining makes more sense for me. Tier 3 for 120 gold + 2 FS for example. Or another random option with 5 FS instead of gold like the rubies. But taking away so much and sell it as buff is awkward.
It's like my boss is coming and telling me
"You get more income! 120%!"
"Rly? Thank you!"
"You just have to work 80 hours a week instead of 40."
"Oh, ok. And if I keep working my 40 hours, how much is it then?"
"In this case you get 50% of your actual income."
xD

How is BED back. I have it but can't play it without Mana and position in the board. I have none now. Buff dragons and BED is back.
frozen core nerf was not needed. Execution 8 is enough.

BED is back as a card to be used before GotW . It helps to have a structure set up prior to that.
Try it with heart guards, wolfs, wfront runners and rockworkers + tower.

I think it's worse strategy than having other kind of cards. It's a 7 Mana card. You can play two or three instead and to have it played at Mana 7 you must have board presence first or conquer it with some extra Mana and a cheap card. I always used it, I can't push it into the board anymore. It was excellent at Mana 6. It was possible until now. I don't see it as a solution from now on. The solution now is agressive and cheap cards. As Mirc says. Runaway from winter.

My deck:
1m green protos
1m summon militia
2m gifted recruits
3m fort
3m westwind sailors
4m ware front runners
5m frozen core (can be replaced with voidesurgers)
5m rockworkers
6m heartguards
6m wolfcloacks
7m bed
8m GotW
won 4 of5 matches in d1 today.
Strategy: you want to finish before 10m turn so just push the frontline
Bed are used to clear the board for the finisher or to extend the time.
Depending on a collection wolfs can be replaced with tegor or siren (but then you need 3mana 2mover instead of 4mana 2 mover).
It works, just try it.

Ahhh... no Winter is not not dead.
The FC nerf does hurt a lot
* People must have forgotten that Swarm has other cards aside from Queen that do well
* Winter rush... sounds another way of just using neutrals with mana gain...
* Another Neutral+ deck
* BED is definitely not back... I have running BED for these 2 last seasons, it was hit or miss... Most of the time it gets cycled vs. other dragons it a dead card.
* Probably the Swarm decks that only use HH. However, they more or less still up off the same shenanigans be it with heavy delay.
* Shadowfen has been on a run since that got buffed last year.
It sounds like to me, if you are heavy invest in Neutrals in your Winter deck, these changes are just a bump in the road for you. However, this does not extend to players whose deck consists of Winter cards as a large majority. You will find yourself getting boxed in a lot of the time with little room to make a comeback. Most of your wins will come from your opponents not pushing the pressure or just them make mistakes. You don't really have any dictation over the game.
Having to twiddle your dumbs while waiting for 7 mana was already a close call, but for 8 mana is a nearly death sentence. Using FC to help get to 8, still works but you don't need the Big Bad Execution to blow it down, just sneeze on it once or twice and it's gone. Players have always tried different ways of taking out FC, sometime it survives other times it doesn't... Now it just won't and if you are lucky it will.
Rockworkers are dead other than for players that spammed and rushed in the first place. The flexible it had for heavier/control decks is gone. It just a pile of rocks that get in the way and provides nothing but the presence. All of the downside it had with RNG just got multiplied, meaning you should only use it to have a favorable advantage. You will be cycling it a lot since it gets in the way. Now you will know what it means to be stuck between a rock and a hard place.
Earthfathers... it can still survive if your opponent does shit for damage. Attacking token yields you virtual peanuts, attacking low cost (1 or 2 mana cards) yield zero but it still survives. Above that is just a net loss. It still gets taken out by the same counters with much more ease than before. Pouring more mana into an already costly card is a joke when can't really sustain the damage, taking the initiative to attack weaken units give almost nothing, and the same counters still work ... Why the fuck is this still 7 mana when a 4 mana card is doing a better job.
All-in-All... just pretend that using neutrals is playing a Winter deck and you will be gucci

You are right, winter is super hard to play without neutrals. This is because of the previous freeze nerf and the fact that it is harder get fraction’s l5 vs neutral l5 . I hope to see some changes with incoming buffs and my collection improved.
Btw, freeze is still used by many of my opponents to slow me down or to buff a structure. Ppl also like LR, Olf and VotG but these are not popular as long games are required.
and I say BED are back because swarm HH or queen & common/rare is 7mana now.
You see the queen, you clear the board.

A follow up to my original post.
I came up with a new winter deck just to prove to myself that the fraction is still playable.
It contains confinement, execution, GotW, BOC and 3 other winter cards.
Works really well, maybe even better to my previous BOC winter deck.
I guess it’s all just a matter of tweaking and changing habits (the hard part).
Surprisingly my biggest complaint is not the new GotW or BOC but the execution. too strong IMO.
In addition to structures it now removes a popular l4 construct hero, Phoenix.
At l5 execution should go back to dealing 7dmg only. I miss structure decks too.
