The prices for Crystal Energy have gone up recently. A lot. It used to be, what, 6k cr? Now it’s getting to 9k. I’m guessing the paid user to nonpaid user ratio is going down or something?

That’s a possibility. Either there are less paying players, or more nonpaying players. However, I don’t believe that to be significant. What I believe is this:
There haven’t been any good deals; the past two have been a 30% more energy deal (Not equivalent to the possible item deals that yield sought after items worth 100k+) and a single weekend item deal (Which dropped the energy prices for a couple of days, followed by the current rise in energy prices).
When no deals are available, the general action for most paying players is to conserve money, knowing that a desirable deal will eventually be released. When that happens, energy is slowly drained from the market and used up, with only a little being added from paying players that are willing to pay for the non-deal energy packs. As less energy is available, prices increase.
Once a good deal comes out, and lasts for a time, then energy prices will begin to drop once more. The longer the deal is in effect, the lower the energy prices will drop because paying players will pay for that pack, and bring more energy into the market. The supply of energy increases, and the prices drop.
As stated before, the last two energy deals have both been either insignificant, or have lasted for an insufficient amount of time. Thus energy prices continue to rise, drop a small amount during the deals, and then continue to rise after the deals are over.

Correction on my previous post: 15%, not 30%
And the last significant bargain was in April, two months ago when the Anniversary packs were available (and not for 3 days; that one was available for a couple of weeks!)

Yes, it is quite frustrating because I started olaying when prices were 6.5kcr, but now I’ve made it to the point where I need to get 4* armor, and it’s near impossible. It’s been bout a month that I’ve been working, and I still need to get a helm and armor. It just sucks.

Alright then, please quote me when I said this thread was to revert the CE price to a normal level. Maybe I need to explain: this forum is for discussing SK, not actually doing things in the game. Therefore, this thread is not “utterly useless”. ;)

And may I ask what is it that we discuss in SK? Inflation in CE prices…. and AFAIK CE is part of SK… and… AND… Inflation in CE Prices IN SK is considered an activity in SK. I’d be a damn fool if its not. So. this post and whatever you’ll reply next is not only utterly useless… but its downright useless unless if people in SK saw this tiny post and had a miraculous change of mind and changed the CE prices. And one more thing. I think you’re the one who doesn’t entirely get what i just said because its pretty obvious that what we discuss in this forums about SK are basically and technically the “same things we do in the game”. So I’m going to repeat it. This thread/post is useless. End of story. Capisce.

Crossed out the repeated stuff and kept the new. For the rest…
People talk about other stuff ingame. Oil, ethanol, and their efficiency. Making letters out of lots of people sitting down. Stuff they want to buy or sell outside of the Auction House. Armor, weapons, and which is best for what. (All true stories.) I’ve never heard inflation/deflation of CE discussed. And you never know, miracles can happen sometimes. ;)
