The Octopus Game is easy to play. You are Fred the Fish. The main object is too run away from the hungry octopus for as long as possible. Also, you need to eat the oxygen bubbles or else you will become too tired to swim! Bigger bubbles give you more oxygen (duh!) and more points...

You move around using the Arrow Keys. Naturally, Fred goes whichever way the arrow points.

You want to get the oxygen so you can get more points, and also so you have enough energy to keep running from the octopus! If you loose your oxygen you will be unable to move and the evil octopus will surely eat you. So, eat lots of big oxygen bubbles and stay healthy!

You will see some marijuana leaves floating around. They might look tasty (you darn stoner) but trust me, you don't wanna eat them. The octopus game is an anti-drug game. Eating the Marijuana makes Fred very slow and lazy and it becomes hard for him to out-run the octopus.

Also, you might see some coffee popping up sometimes. Fred loves coffee, and he'll be pretty sad if you dont drink the coffee when its available. Coffee helps Fred be more agile. He moves quicker and has a better shot of outrunning the evil hungry octopus.

One final note: if you get too close to the octopus' mouth, he will lock-on to you and chase you. If you are faster than him you can still out-run him and he will go back to swimming randomly. But, he gets faster as the game goes on, so drink lots of coffee and don't get too close to his mouth.
