The only repeatable tech to increase production per worker is Mining(in the first age). If you want to reach those 1.5M Production for the Wonder, you better make sure to have some levels of Mining before turn 50! Oh and I want to attack those tribes: for Loot, Safety, Land, XP or simply REVENGE!!!

Refugee & Culture seems a little weird: I had refugees with a different culture, only 1/10th of them could join because of my population cap (it didn't say how many 'many' was), but it still cut my culture in half.

Peasants: EVERYONE REVOLT, WE WANT PEACE, WE WANT NO POLLUTION! WE WANT ALL!
Me: How about you get 10% more food, that is 4 more spoonfuls of food.
Peasants: Alright, deal, wait what were we rioting about?

Reaching Singularity - 1) Grow tech by worshipping. First 2 techs go to Mysticism and eventually 3 total plus 3 in Polythesium, and zero in Monotheism. 2) Grow tech by growing population. Animal Breeding/Cattle is good till 4000BC. After that Fishing till 3000BC. Then all Plough - the other two lines of food don't allow enough population to work. 3) When the population is climbing by about 200k per turn, grow tech by Writing - the compounding 10% exceeds the cost increase of tech. One you get 1 tech per turn, it will increase to Null in a few turns. Keep threat level at or below 15%. Best way to increase population is City Planning plus Mud Houses, or Code of Law if you only have tech.

Don't listen to the tutorial's 8% threat level.. at the start you actually WANT to be attacked. That way you get to fight and get the +10% strength from battle experience over and over while you're still in the first age. That added strength lets you keep people off guard duty in the later ages so winning becomes much easier. (2700~2800 in normal mode)

Snow Crash happened when population cap rolled over to -1.9B in 1870 BC, and everyone died. The singularity is vulnerable to extinction-level memetic viruses, I guess. 10/10 would Asherah again.

after having 1bil poeple, wonder of temple somehow cost -1.7B, after buying it, if i buy another population code of law, my population would also go to negative.. while resources increase will become NULL
(i am not sure what trigger this bug)

maybe its better to indicate what turn u are really in right now and how many turns you have to beat the game. I was SHOCKED when I see 10 more turns left before the end of the game and I was still half way to the Pyramids.

Strategy for winning: Focus 100% on farms (while keeping threat under 8%). Once your reach the next age... continue to farm. Next age... continue to farm. Then, by the time you reach the final age, you have enough population to start mega-focusing on production. I won normal in year 2480 while screwing up a lot with only 77 worshippers (one of my screw ups was to make them and the temple). The only techs you need really are farming (dump it all), population cap, and a bit of production & strength (to get the soldiers into the farms). Then, in the last age, switch your massive population into production and whip out the pyramid in a matter of turns :P.

5 stars on hardest difficulty. After some experimentation, focusing exclusively on animal farming seems to work best. While fishing gives the most food per person, focusing on it gives you a slow start, and its max workers increases too slowly. You only need to put a few points in Selection to be able to put 40%+ of your population in the pastures.

Pretty sure I just came across a bug where I was in an endless war. Sometime in my early 200's, I chose to go to war with some people or whatever, I think my population was struggling to hit 80k. I'm now in turn 800, and I've been at war the whole time. 100% threat, every turn. I have, however, managed to grow during this time. I now have 1.9M people, although this fluctuates when I get hit hard by slavers.
It was interesting for a while. Having to survive and grow while never getting a time to rest. But it's become boring, rote, and I miss the good events, like traders or land gains or such. Oh well

egh. I mean I get the reason but sometimes mere luck can REALLY screw you. LONG drought in the earliest stages of the game? have fun recovering from THAT!

If Leader Cunning is high and army is low : Fight , If army is Strong and leader cunning is low , cheat , If All is strong, Flee , If all is weak Fight xD

Its pretty clear that this game does not support it self after the game ends. In the beginning of the sandbox i found it hard to keep the threat level under 10 % (and sometimes under 30 %!).
I did some mat on the shit (Im a auditor, this is what i do!) and found a way to max out everything! Now my max. population says -1,9B and my culture says "+NULL".
Think i broke the game :-P

These people have come to ENSLAVE YOU!
They have a weak army and a stupid leader you can
Fight them, Cheat them, or Flee! from them...
Why can't I enslave them? D:

So I had 387 food workers when I upgraded my farm. It said I would gain 1 food per worker per turn. I only gained approximately 20, though.

A correction for my last post. Null was not the same thing as infinity, but I do believe 40k research upgrades constitutes a singularity.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
I made it to turn 517 before the singularity happened. At turn 500ish I noticed that my passive culture from population was quickly bringing me close to 1 tech per turn and so I started spending those techs on the +10% culture tech. The tech income at turn 516 was 51 techs and that was all I needed to reach Null(read infinity) culture income.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Great game but why can't I research techs from previous eras? I'm now stuck on age 3 with no way to increase population while my max population is unable to accomplish the necessary goals to advance.

Well, I have to agree with LifeOnTop, it was really hard after the main objective ended until I focused only on culture. That really sped up my society's growth. My culture points overflowed to "Null" :P Anyways, it was fun.

For me, this is not surprising because when u change dynasties, u first need to convert the "good" dynasty bonus back to normal (regular levels). This means u first loses the +40% culture bonus. And later u add the "bad dynasty" bonus which is -50% strength. This also works vice versa. When u go from a "bad dynasty" to a "good dynasty". You first loses your "bad" bonus and go back to normal, so you have+50% strength back. Then u "gain" a good bonus which is another +X%. So you think you "gain" +50% strength but in fact you are just having it go back to normal levels.

I like this game very much. However there are some things I just want to clarify. When u go on a war with another tribe, what things do u actually get? All I see is that my danger bar goes skyrocketed and after "10 turns" It just says that the war is over......
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
to beat the game on hard - focus on animal production and culture, then move to production only when there are about 30 turns remaining
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
For people who don't understand dynasty. (I may be wrong, but heres my guess) When you get a good dynasty, its fine while you have it, but when you get the next one, POOF, it does the exact opposite of what it did, +40% to culture dynasty? Oh, here is a -50% to strength dynasty! But, now i get -40% to culture? Too? But, when it changes dynasty I have that Negative bonus too? Nope, it becomes a helping bonus!
This sorta means, that if you have a bad dynasty, next dynasty it becomes a good dynasty, but vice versa.

Finished game on easy & went into sandbox, got to 1623 B.C and the game started bugging out ( + NaN research points probably had something to do with it) I pressed end turn and I got resources etc but It didn't go below 1623
Eventually all my stats where so high that they just went to 0, Then it said I lost. I kinda wanted to get to 0 BC to see what happened but I'm pretty sure nothing would happen and the rounds would continue until the inevitable game crash, I was having a lot of fun in sandbox mode while it lasted , really glad you implemented that 5/5

@ thegrik: more food = more population growth. It's a good idea to aim for max growth and increase population cap and food professions as needed.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
everything is cool but as LifeOnTop said it's just too difficult to play past 150turn you can have as much people as can but threat level is always over 10% :/
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
as I have said about the other ones the game has less to do with strategy and more does the game decide it hate you
is it safe to have a 10% danger rating...sure, is it safe to have 100% also yes unless the game decides I don't like you all of a sudden, that's fine it's a manageable risk
moving forward here I am well on my way to win the game, what's this dynasty change? oh...uhm ok < sloth or whatever, boom 40% production cut...guys it's turn 140 and based on the new calculations we won't "win" until turn 152 even if I commit 100% of everything to it guess I should have calculated the random "dice roll" to doom me

Is there a way to increase population growth? It is way to slow to beat the game without luke. This apart, good ideas, the tech tree and buildings are cool.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
It's basically like stone age, but its has a few things different then stone age at the same time, the skill tree is opened up quite a bit more, more things to build, and I found my first playthough a bit harder then then stone age, in fact. I couldn't beat settler first try, I was a few turns off getting enough production for the pyramid. 5/5 Great game

I really enjoyed that changes in the Tech Tree, allowing us to add any number of Tech Points to each Tech was one of my favorite parts. The "Wars" was interesting after you engage and wait until the end of your turns. The offers for a great inventor and such were fun to try out. One thing I don't understand, why does the difficulty seem to skyrocket if you continue to play past the 150 turns?
