Description

0/5 stupid game i expect a lot of the Unity games

This game was actually made before I was a Game Development student here at Full Sail; I didn't realize people commented on it until I went to see if it had any plays. This was my submission for the Creative Minds Scholarship -- up to 25k (of which I won 20k). I started it around 3 months before my August 5th 2013 start date, && 5 months before my first programming class (c++). I wasn't actually exposed to C# (formally) till I started Windows Forms Programming in February 2014, && didn't touch C# again till last month (June 2014). This game was my first attempt at making a game -- even coding in general -- && was actually the first time I'd seen C# or Javascript at all. In fact, the only reason I uploaded the game was so my General Admissions && Game Dev Admissions team could check it out (since they aren't involved in the submissions). So, thanks for playing the game. I apologize for the fact that it's not everything you expected.

full screen is a must in the future.

The reason for this was actually a fault partially related to the build of Unity I was working with at the time. For some reason, the Devs of Unity didn't include the ability to apply the Screen.lockCursor property to web games (previously it locked the cursor to the center, but disallowed mouse movement). Now, applying that property in the Start() function of literally any script, the cursor is locked to the center until the window loses focus (or the escape key is pressed) -- except now you can move the mouse. Nevertheless, thanks for playing the game. I apologize for having not replied much, much earlier.

Hm... alpha/beta version? The aiming needs getting used to. Sounds?

Honestly, the game wasn't meant to be played by the public; it was created for the Creative Minds Scholarship at Full Sail - I made it with zero programming training && no exposure to Unity (In fact the only reason I uploaded the game was so my General && Game Dev Admissions teams could check it out). I do agree on aiming; the reason for this was actually a fault related to the build of Unity I was working with. For some reason, the Devs of Unity didn't include the ability to apply the Screen.lockCursor property to web games (it locked the cursor to the center, but disabled mouse movement). As far as the sounds go, I didn't have enough knowledge to implement sounds. Actually, it worked out kind of well due to the fact that the game was meant to be somewhat comedic in nature (I "explained" that the reason there was no sound because the robot you're using didn't have a sound card && the graphics sucked because the graphics card was way outdated) Nevertheless, thanks for playing the game!

WHY IS IT HOLDING A FRIKEN PORTAL GUN

davidgoad
davidgoad Développeur

If you didn't get the vibe, this game was meant to be mainly comical in nature. I decided on the Portal gun because I wanted to incorporate as many things from games that I enjoyed as made sense. By the end of the game, you would've seen a reference to the cake, && a reference to the first Bioshock game (Would You Kindly). I chose the orange gun instead of the blue one because my friend, Adam, liked the orange one better. Thanks for playing the game. I apologize for not replying much, much earlier. Though the player doesn't actually know it, the model for the player wears a top hat && monocle (because I wanted it to be a dapper robot)
