It's great to see a game based on the immune system, I always thought it would be a good basis for tower defense. This looks good, and there's some nice ideas.

On the other hand, dragging and dropping cytokines is tedious and fiddly busywork. I think the game would play better if more emphasis was put on the vein spawn points, perhaps increasing cytokine production and diffusion to eliminate the need for drag and drop. Maybe having spawn points passively release WBCs over time. More like a typical tower defense - placement and type is important, but defenses mostly look after themselves when set up. There's plenty to do with different cell types, pathogens and receptors.

Cell diffusion would also help, I always ended up with cells clustering in one place instead of spreading out.

Overall I though it was interesting and conveyed the key concepts well. More work on the gameplay would really help you get a wider audience!

Thanks for your feedback! Your suggestions are very insightful. We are looking for new ways to let players control cells. We are building these new ways into the next few levels. Our plan is to give the player more auto target abilities as the levels progress, to target cells in a more tower defense, self controlling way. We wanted to first introduce the cell's natural targeting system and then let you auto target later. Then we'll be able to let you hand manipulate over top of the auto target using extra cytokines. And yeah, we do need to work on those cells and their drifting tendencies!

I really like this so far. Very interesting and accurate. Fun to play and cool while being different! I'm stuck on level 4 though, not sure what the exact strategy is. Not clear to me >.<

Yeah, in level 4 we are trying to get you to activate a Neutrophil. If you buy a Mac, get it to eat a bacterium it will make TNF. TNF activates Neutrophils. Activated Neutrophils eat many bacteria at once... so you can finally beat level 4. We are re-writing the intro so that more of these steps happen before you need to actually use the activated Neutrophil.

We are planning many changes. All of your comments here are consistent with what we see at expos and in our play testing sessions. And what we feel, too. We're working on making that game play more clear and therefore the fun is more obvious. And then we're going to add all the the more complex interactions between the different types of cells and the many many different pathogens. We need to re-code a lot, in order to make these changes and future iterations more efficient. So it will take a little while. We have an IndieGoGo project going and our company website is MolecularJig.com.
