kjojo, bear in mind that the "beach squares" (the ones made of sand) are part of the board too! maybe it's my mistake that these square seem to be special, when they ain't

This is an outstanding idea but unless I'm spacing on how minesweeper works it actually gets its numbers wrong sometimes (look at the 1's in the red splotch at http://imgur.com/26FVc). Not much of a fan of the isometric view for pattern-recognition puzzles, that's just taste. 3/5 for concept, the two-player twist adds a lot to a great base..
