Mar 5, 2012: Atomic weight category is now complete: All 118 elements are now included! (I’ve gotta say, that was a lot of data entry!)
Mar 5, 2012: Atomic weights now go up to element #32. The rest are coming within the next few hours
Feb 23, 2012: Added new category: Alkaline Earth Metals
Feb 12, 2012: Big update! You can now select which categories you’d like to study. I’ll admit, the number of choices is rather sparse right now, but this sets the stage for a massive new content update, coming soon!

Feb 11, 2012: Update! Completely overhauled the scoring system, made it so that correctly answered questions are removed until the quiz is over, and added an endgame / score screen.
Next update: Choice of categories for the quiz, and a vastly improved question set. Coming soon!

Hey, great idea for a game. I find it a bit frustrating not to know the correct answer after guessing wrong, could you pop up the correct answer before going on to the next question maybe even by showing the element in question in the periodic table (if it doesnt slow down the game too much). It would help re-learing the table much quicker. :-)

That's a really good idea (And it makes sense, because you'd get to see the answer if you were using real flash cards) I'm going to look through the code and start figuring out the simplest way to make that work :) I think it would be a good thing to put in the next update.

good idea but since only the number isn't very useful in my opinion you should make different ways of play: number, position, maybe properties (i.e. "which is a metal?" or "which is liquid at room temperature?" something like that), or even atomic mass. And make a limited number of question per quiz with increasing difficulty if the player reaches a certain score. Furthermore i'd like to see a quit button and so on(maybe even in-game achievements).... (i know i wrote much but it's because i am a chemist and so i'd love agood flash game about the periodic table) 4/5 on the trust that tou will update the game

I was hoping I'd get a comment like this (especially from a chemist!). I'm very interested in shaping this in a direction that would be more educational/useful. I was hesitant to load it with hundreds of questions until I knew if there'd be a demand for it or not, but you've encouraged me! I'll start by adding some of the new question types you've suggested, and work out a finite quiz length, etc. - I'll be starting on it this evening; I've got a few things to do today. Thank you very much for the feedback!

I like it! Definitely needs some work, but it's a great start.
