Under rating threshold (show) When Jack talks about the short stubby refrigerator he is alluding to the green "boxes" or doors in Company of Myself. It's green because it's "Eco-friendly too." This is the box that Kathyrn is buried in (as revealed in CoM). There are so many subtle connections. Great game - not because of the puzzles (which are fun and challenging) but because of the message. This games actually has something to say and it says it. Much appreciation

Under rating threshold (show) I think she smokes because she thinks that is a solution to a lot of her problems and as seen the first levels are solved by the fact that she is smoking. Even though it's not good for her she finds a reason to do it in her head as shown in the game. Quite brilliant actually

Under rating threshold (show) I was prepared to give this game a 5/5 as soon as I saw it was a prequel to The Company of Myself, one of my favorite flash games of all time. After playing it, I was thoroughly impressed. The developer managed to come up with an entirely new mechanic that was as fun to use as the one from TCoM and even cooler to see. The story was already a great part of TCoM, but this took it to a whole new level! Fixation took everything that made the story of TCoM great, amplified it, and added more characters, dialogue, and art. Everything from the gameplay to the atmosphere was absolutely perfect. I wish I could do more than 5/5 and favorite this. If I ever get money for Kreds, I'll be sure to send some towards this developer. I would love to see a sequel, but if the developer feels that his work with this story is complete, his next project would be very welcome too. Thank you for this spectacular work of art!

Under rating threshold (show) A good prequel to Company of Myself. Filled in some of the question marks while presenting a few others. The blending of metaphor and reality nicely mimics CoM. Still, I did come away wishing that the significance of the green box would have been touched upon and expanded a bit.

Under rating threshold (show) Among all the graces this game possesses-- its story, its music, its pacing, to name a few-- I admire how it is not heavy-handed in dealing with more emotional themes. It shows how games can explore a complex narrative in a meaningful and interactive way. Truly a gem.

Under rating threshold (show) "Sometimes you do things you wouldn't normally like or forget about stuff entirely. In the worst cases, both at once." Things you wouldn't do:lie + kill, forget. Jack does remember Kath, he just doesn't remembering him meeting her this day, due to the effect of drugs. He doesn't remember killing her either. It has been much more than just one day, as far as I see it of course. He tells you about him meeting Kath in "the company of myself", but then he doesnt remember killing her either. Somehow it feels like there is a large missing part of the puzzle to the story, even knowing the story of tcom

Under rating threshold (show) "I haven't seen anyone complete the EHUP in a very long time!" Well doc, when was the last time you met someone who uses tobacco smoke to solve puzzles that exist as a result of said individual converting life's problems into metaphorical levels in a game? That's what I thought...

Under rating threshold (show) In the caves, Jack says: "Sometimes you do things you wouldn't normally like or forget about stuff entirely. In the worst cases, both at once." This explains how he killed Kathryn and forgot about the whole day. However, in TCOM, he said he was so sad that he "didn't leave the house for days." I don't know if this is messed up, or 2DArray placed a cospiracy on purpose. Anyway, this is kind of a sad, creepy story about why we shouldn't do drugs. And a great game from 2D, as always. 5/5.

Under rating threshold (show) I really liked it. And not only the game, but also the impact it got on player. Company of Myself was extraordinary and now, when we've got to play as Kathryn, everyone got that "But he didn't kill her, right? Sure he didn't. Come on, he couldn't" attitude. You've made me watch the same story from different perspective and some how made me shocked that there's still no happy ending.

Under rating threshold (show) So, there are three endings that I have seen in the comments of the two games. One, Jack murdered Katheryn. Two, Jack accidentally caused her death. Three, Jack lost her, yet she remains living. Has anyone thought that maybe, after they parted ways, Katheryn died from an acquired illness caused by her smoking? And Jack believes that he could have saved her, if they had not parted ways?

Under rating threshold (show) One thing I love about 2DArray is the way everything flows in his games, they don't tell a story to you, you make the story, and the tutorial is fitted into the story, rather than just sticking a wee screen at the start telling you everything, you feel like you develop with the character, and it makes the games all the more gripping, I love this and TCOM so much, if you read this 2D, you are my favourite flash game developer!

Under rating threshold (show) If you take 'The Company of Myself' and compare it to this game, the level where jack 'kills' Kathryn, and the last level of this game, is the biggest part in my opinion. In TCOM, the ending credits basically explain that he went insane after he accidentally killed Kathryn and he put her in a green box. In this game, she talks about her garden(backyard) where she's found in TCOM. So, yeah. It all kind of falls together. Jack was a drug abuser trying to get away from his normal life, but it just made it worse when he met Kathryn.

Under rating threshold (show) Spoiler: Is it just me who doesn't actually think he killed her. Through the game you jump down holes to finish a level, so that's not a problem. As shown in the ending, and mentioned earlier in the game, his medication means he forgets her. He loses contact, can't find her again, and his poor mental state means he starts to believe he killed her.

Under rating threshold (show) "No man is an island" You can't go through life by yourself. The game shows how Kath can't finish some problems without the help of others, sometimes we also have to swallow our pride and get the help from other people that we hate. This game is truly a work of art describing a little something about life as we know it. This game is really one of my favorites, truly one of the best series ever made, the story is just so brilliant. Favorited again 5/5. This is a masterpiece my friend it is...
