A nice trick to earn good cash is to aim, while close to surface, for the fish with "gems", try to get a x2 and then go a little deeper and get the big fish! Also, look for the fish with green gems, because they will make your load more valuable. For the guffins, if you are looking for them and you are running low on O2, don't stop! The guffin will replenish your oxygen bar when you get it. Another pice of advice related to guffins, if you have plenty of oxygen when you find it, catch some fish around it; when your 02 leves run low, grab the guffin. Extra time! Well that was pretty sinister.. Did anyone else kept expecting to have another nightmare at the beginning of every day? I like that you only get a vague idea about your depth, weapon effectiveness , etc. It made it more atmospheric, and you have to use your intuition a bit.

Spoiler: In Freeplay Mode, press 3 for the "Captain's Edge", which consumes minimal oxygen and turns the mouse into a blade.

Melee: short range, I think it uses less oxygen. Harpoon: long range and more O2 consumption. With the power upgrades, they would slice through every fish. Harpoon is good if you line up the fish. You also get the most $ for cutting the tips off fish and wait until they bleed. Always dive deeper since bigger fish=more $.

Hunter becomes the hunted. Now who could have thought of that? Oh, wait a minute. To name a few, there's "The Most Dangerous Game,""The Hunger Games,""Jumanji," and, more or less, "Resident Evil 3." The ending was essentially unsurprising due to bored-hunter-looking-for-harder-challenge-and-therefore-resorting-to-homicide being a common theme in literature, movies, and games. All in all, ending was way too obvious.

it's funny how long it takes the "fish" to die. you shoot off it's head and you have to wait a minute before it dies and you can collect it.

1. you are the captain so there's no need for free water, since you're supposed to be under there. 2. you're not supposed to beat the captain, you have to get killed by him I think

To find cuffings you just press space when your character is glowing, it should give you an arrow, but careful if using space too often you will lose oxigen , :D hope it helps you

I shall dive and shoot my oxagen at little fishes and big fishes and get money out of it buy collecting it without my fingers and get $100.00 out of every or more parts of a fish... what a weird life

Lol. I couldn't beat that captain guy but im glad you got his power in free mode... If only you get it in career mode too, it'd atleast give people a CHANCE to kill him.... I was wondering why the deep water isn't breathable in Free mode?

Forget about the graphic, this game have nice mechanics. There's no tutorial like click this and there, but the player learn something new with progressing through the game.
Some tips after reading some comment, credits to original poster:
1. Press space to see pointer to help find guffin (for progressing the game and can fully recover health and oxygen)
2. To kill fish efficiently, cut the jaw, it's the red box (you can see it from the breathing bubble too), and be careful the fish can attack you
3. The long white line is the fish spine, attack multiple times to make the fish bleed and died, so so the body keep in intact, means higher money
4. The grey and green orb that sometimes appear on some fish give high multiplier
5. Press 3 in the free play to experience godlike bending reality weapon XD

Hmm, I found a perma-bite. I killed a fish as it was about to bite me, and whenever I went near that spot, the bite square showed up. Eventually killed me as I chased a $400 monster

to earn the medium badge you must first unlock all the upgrades. once that is done just dive as far down as possible and prepare for an epic fight. just thought i save a few headaches ;)

Spoiler so read if you stuck like me or just want to finish fast::::::: To finish the game you should get license 4 and upgrade depth to max (infinite) and start swimming down till you reach an strange place and an message will show up::

Really this game have potential. Is fun like it is now, but I'm sure the concept can be improved. Graph doesn't matter, but maybe can add different goal, different fish...

looks like about half of the people who get the easy badge can be bothered to get the medium one. I guess I'm just not one of them.
