swamp is too laggy on a laptop to play! :( Although I did get a neat bug where I was able to blow rings like normal smoke...

Oh wow, I adored The Company of Myself, and what a prequel! By GOD, what a good fillmwriter you'd make. Amazing. Your work is BEYOND exceptional - good job again, as usual, at making something truly thought-provoking; these are less games than works of cerebral art.

having trouble with the EHUP in level 3-1? Just create a ring of smoke and run toward the target. The ring will follow you.

(pt. 2) I wasn't a big fan of Jack, either, though I liked the therapist and the other girl's boyfriend was a hilarious character. Overall, though, the story wasn't interesting to me. The symbolism was very strong and prevalent, though, and that was definitely admirable.

Good puzzle-platformers are always interesting, and this one was particularly innovative. It was very satisfying to see that new elements that affected the gameplay were being introduced at a fast, but reasonable pace. The storyline itself was not particularly engaging to me, and I suppose it's supposed to be translatable to a certain demographic. However, storyline and setting in a game is already a very important element to me, which means inherently I like those portrayed in typical flash games. This was a bit of a reach, but in a direction I suppose I just don't connect to very well. The protagonist's personality just seemed very forced, her perpetual gloominess, introspective nature and destructive habits were very cliched.

(Pt 2 of 2) Another observation I made I would like to point out, The sphinx is a creature (in greek mythos) of bad luck and destruction- is it the fact that Kat dating Thomas was in fact not good for her, was it self destruction you were trying to convey?
And before I finish this comment, the ending was sad indeed. In the last level, the one i remebred immeditaly from Company of Myself even though it has been years since I played it, I don't know whether it was intentional or not- but before she dies, before she is killed (whether from the smoking or Jack)- she has to enable it. She lets him out of her sight (even though Jack said she can keep an eye on him and his doses) and enables the death via smoke ring into the switch, which then let Jack do as he pleased.

(Pt 1 of 2) I must say 2dArray, this is simply amazing. It isnt often, ever actually, that I comment on a video game- but you have defiantly outdid yourself this time. The art is nice, the story simple, yet complex enough for one to dwell deeper into not only their own lives, but we as humans and as a society- how we function each day, the norms we live by, even the people we know or hate. If anything is truly a work of art, it is this game.
Now, this is where I am a bit confused, since its been a long while since I played Company of Myself. In that game, it says she was killed and put in a box in the backyard correct? Is this more or less why she talks about her yard, somehow something back there leading to that incident- perhaps another miss-dosage?

For those having trouble with the EHUP, you blow a smoke ring then you run with it, it should bring the distance just a bit further.

@Memorex77
That is true, but I think the hat may have been a metaphor of his struggle. That no matter what it was impossible for either him or anyone else to get through. That he was always able to stand on that barrier on his mind while he himself was so conflicted. It helped get them through their struggles together seeming like a solid foundation, but it never was truly there. He and she could only stand on what he showed them, but neither could reveal what was in his head.

How about keeping the smoke circle bar throughout the game? I get utterly frustrated because I didn't know to learn the timing on the ONLY screen its there, and its difficult to do it off by trial and error where the puzzle requires speed.

Hmm... Interesting...I don't know if anyone else has noticed this. When the stage theme is blue someone is trying to get their lives together by going the wrong direction. When they are green theres a relational struggle and recovery. And if the theme is red someone dies...
Perfect Sequel...

@Lavender12.. You time it so that you jump and get stuck in the wall in the middle, and then jump on the ledge. You can then get the smoke rings to open the door above you.

Way to put absolutely massive spoilers in the description. O.o Thankfully I never read about 2DArray games before playing them fully (or getting stuck...) so the ending had a major impact on me. Absolutely excellent game as always from you guys!

It's an interesting house world where "doing your chores" means surviving the jump over a death pit to reach the desk that's conveniently located near the roof.

the easiest way to solve the EHUP is to stand where the switch is and blow a smoking ring while her head is in front of it
