I played The Company of Myself before I played this. Even though the last level came as a huge shock to me, I should have expected it. If I remember correctly in the first game it said Katheryn had died, but did she really die once she jumped into the right exit? Where did that exit really take her? I noticed how Jack's exit was to the left while Kathryn's was to the right (taking from the top comment on the significance of exit placement). I also wonder if the art style and overall design of the two games has significance. This game is so much more detailed while The Company of Myself is very simplistic. My first guess is it represents the difference in mental state between the two. Overall it was a beautiful game that addressed life, death, depression, addiction, recovery, friendship, and love. It's a beautiful game, one of my favorites actually.

The last level creeps up on you. You think you're going to meet up with Jack later, and then the screen clears. Suddenly, you realize that you recognize this level, it's just the same from Jacks memories. But what is there to do?
Sometimes, life doesn't give you a way out.

I like this. It's like a totally different game but the story it's the part of The Company of Myself.
Congratulations.

Would have preferred the timer bar for the smoke rings still *be* there, since I continue to have problems timing it correctly.

Say what you will about "platfomers with meaning," but I always appreciate one that can deliver it's message in a way that comes across genuine. This is certainly one of those games, and I can relate in a lot of respects to Kathryn's issues, as well as the psychologist's insights. I appreciated this games message a great deal, and the game it was framed around wasn't too shabby, either, however difficult it may have been in some levels. Overall, an enjoyable, and personal, experience.

well under the assumption that this is the prequel to the company of myself< he didn"t forget about her he murdered her

Some levels are ridiculously easy, others ridiculously hard (unforgiving timing - ridiculously precise as atomic clocks or pulsars ;) Overall the music is great - simple yet elaborate and lyrical tunes, and the puzzles are interesting too. IMO the interwoven dialogues provide an unnecessary distraction, even with the skip button. 4/5

SPOILER ALERT
Am I getting this wrong, or did Jack kill Kathryn/got Kathryn killed and forgot about it because of his drugs?

Someone explained the ending.... I might have got it myself if I played it all in one sitting maybe. Not sure if I liked it or not but it makes me feel the author is evil.
SPOILER
I mean, having a lengthy game getting us involve in this Kathryn character only to kill her off at the end? Is the author related to George R. R. Martin?

I've read on other sites that the main issue previously found was with anyone not using Flash Player 11, so upgrading Flash (or swapping Chrome/Firefox), may well solve the loading issue.

I've made comments on my profile about this game, but did want to post this here:
I was amazed how many people seemed to have a problem with a game about Mental Health, just because smoking was used as a coping strategy. This game would have been just as realistic if Kathryn was walking around with a syringe, squirting opiates at lasers; throwing pills, or alcohol at them; or showing aggression, or even more harmful coping methods.
This game doesn't support smoking at all, but has a very good understanding of Mental Health. Thank you very much Dev. :)

Why did Jack kill her in the end? He tricked her into a booby trap and dropped her into a pit. In the Company of Myself she died in order to allow him to solve the puzzle (interpretation, sacrifices life for him) but in Fixation, Jack straight up murders her for no reason

oh, also, the game refused to load for me on IE, but on firefox it ran smoothly and I encountered no problems with the jumping or smoke. In case anyone is having issues.

wonderful music though, worth playing through again... but seriously... let the ending be nice... stop throwing in curve balls that ruin everything we just worked for.... it's really making me wanna go out and kill someone.....or at the very least find the writer and strangle him.... ugh.. Also, wow... that ending level.... it's the same as Company of myself... the right path leads home... yeah sure... Home.... whatever.... maybe it wasn't intentional but wow, way to leave a bad taste in the player's mouth x.x ... oh well, at least you won't be forgotten ....
