Under rating threshold (show) I just had a idea. You guys should make a sequal to both games that is from a 3rd party but is not within the mind. Show what actually happened in the real world. What peoples thoughts and actions within there head actually are to someone looking on in the tangible world that is not part of the subconscious. Just a thought. Like using Penelope as the character.

Under rating threshold (show) Guys, I can't believe the top comments! He was a magician, that's why he has his top hat. Also, notice how his magic trick was to multiply himself? Remember the concept of the game "Company of Myself" if you've played it? Now put the pieces together, I've already made it easy enough for you.

Under rating threshold (show) For the people who do not get the ending. Basically Kathryn goes and tries to get rid of her smoking problem and she meets a guy. The guy takes drugs and he said sometimes he forgets things and sometimes he does things that is wrong and on a rare occasion both. So at the end he accidentally kills Kathryn then goes home and forgets about it, so Kathryns dead. Then in the company of myself he remembers her. Sad ending. And she and him both fall down symbolizing falling down. Also in the meadow the lasers no longer harm her so she has no need to smoke. The end is very surprising and it all started from one boyfriend... so be careful with your boyfriends and girlfriends is the moral i guess, or don't take drugs... and smoke... 5/5 Brilliant game There should be a topic for these kind of games however there are not many of these games, more for the future.

Under rating threshold (show) That... was amazing. He doesn't even remember that he puled the button... that was sad. She had just finally turned her life around, and jack destroys that during his downhill spiraling of meds, unaware of his actions until to late. I loved every second of this. Was nice to see the story on Kathryn's part, and learn more about Jack's past, before he reached that hopeless state of guilt and pain. A simple game, challenging, with a heart touching story. Kudos!

Under rating threshold (show) I am dumbfounded by the fact that this has a lower rating than "I Saw Her Standing There". The storytelling, music choice, puzzle challenge, puzzle innovation, and artwork are far superior in this game. It seems the main complaints for this are: some puzzles are too tough and there is too much dialogue. I'd say don't listen to this bullsht advice. There might be some wordiness, but I'm hesitant to even say that because it might affect the voice you brilliantly create for the characters only using text (the stutter, fuking genius, notable mention of the omission of "..." later to show more confidence). The puzzles should be hard in a platformer; I don't understand how you can feel accomplished performing tedious tasks as so many other praised platformer games require you to do. Rant aside keep up the good work 2darray, you really are a boss and I'd personally rank all of your past 7 games in the top 10 games on kong. Keep pushing yourself and keep being creative.

Under rating threshold (show) 5 Years after playing this game, and I still love it. It is one of the best puzzle games I have ever played. A magnificent prequel to my favorite game on here. And even though I know the game, I still get that emotional response I got when I first played this game, not knowing it was the prequel till the very last level, when it all clicked. Thank you for this game. It is indeed like a fine wine. It has gotten better with age, and how the lines strike new emotions compared to when I was 13. Thank you.

Under rating threshold (show) *Spoilers Ahead* I came here after playing TCOM moments before. I assumed during TCOM that Jack had accidentally killed Kathryn. As I started playing Fixation, I was dreading the end because I figured that Kathryn was going to die. After chapter 4 ended, I wondered if Thomas was going to be revealed as the killer, and that Jack either assumed he was the killer, or that he regretted leaving alone Kathryn at the end. His decision to part ways could be interpreted as him feeling responsible for her death by not being there. Having finished the game though, I think it's more likely that Jack killed Kathryn, then forgot due to his drug-induced amnesia. Either way, it's quite the tragic ending for Kathryn to have reached "the meadow" through her own actions (instead of artificially like Jack), only to disappear forever. Overall, I'm very impressed by both Fixation and TCOM. I loved the metaphors and symbols woven through the gameplay, and the story was very well done.

Under rating threshold (show) The last level creeps up on you. You think you're going to meet up with Jack later, and then the screen clears. Suddenly, you realize that you recognize this level, it's just the same from Jacks memories. But what is there to do? Sometimes, life doesn't give you a way out.

Under rating threshold (show) I still think Company of Myself was better because there;s that moment where you realise you'll have to pull the switch to continue. It was interesting seeing that scene again but its not quite the same when you don't pull it. I only criticise because you came up with the single best moment of telling story through gameplay I've ever experienced in a game and now I hold all other games up to that one moment. The dialogue was much better for this one, but the gameplay was less meaningful

Apr. 25, 2012

Under rating threshold (show) I think I've got it. Both games are obviously Kathryn and Jack's journey through each others phsyche. As the game progresses Kathryn's life begins to get back into a healthy state. The ending itself is not just a reference to the first game but it explains Jack's slow decline into an amnesiac and socially un-responsive state. I can only assume his "medicaiton" which is likely something such as weed of cocain contributed greatly to his mental breakdown. The ending of Kathryn falling to 'death' was actually taking place in Jack's mind and represents his newfound amnesia repressing Kathryn's existance and a whole. Perhaps Jack's ability to split himself in his mind isn't so he can keep himself company as much as it is faint ghosts and shreds of memories that he has not completely forgotten yet. It's pretty sad. amazing game, 9/10 only because the gameplay is somewhat wonky.
