think that the last level could be kind of a metaphor for his live, I mean you basically have to create thousands of shadows and the all have to fall into the gap so the "real" person can succeed. Its like drop your past so you can go on.

Very sad story. I love this kind of games. I think Kongregate should have an area just for games with storys like that.

If you wait long enough at the "The End" screen a message appears:
"The shrink leaves, and suddenly I don't even have a person to tell my story to anymore."
So he does remember the shrink visiting, even though in the report the shrink says that he doesn't remember any of their prior meetings.... that's so sad :(

After playing both games, i must conclude if to following the facts and possibly some illusory objects, Jack murdered Kathryn because after she fixed her problems (the issues in her house a.k.a life) she was moving on to the garden weeds (other peoples' issues a.k.a Jack) and this would have pulled him from his meadow of happiness. So he killed her, and afterwards realizing that she had become part of his meadow of happiness, he buried her among his problems. He struggles inward because his action has pulled him out of his meadow, and the drugs and psychology only remind him of the vivid place he has lost. I think he buried her in a green box to symbolize how she had become part of that haven. If not for the psychiatrist stating how Jack had killed Kathryn there is another possible explanation but this is following that fact.

This is one of those games that even when I look at it during a search, I feel like I just got punched in the gut. This is easily the deepest game on Kongregate, and one of the saddest. 5/5, if only for effective message.

This storyline is greatly moving and saddening, and provoked a very depressing emotional response from me. I was so touched upon seeing the final report that I was nearly brought to tears. This truly is a masterpiece of a game, and is nothing short of beautiful.

I've never seen a simple internet game with such an evocative, emotional storyline. That was astoundingly good. Major, major props to the creator, I loved it. I've never commented on a game, but this was just too good to pass up. Amazing game.

I had no memory of what Company of Myself was while playing Fixation. Now I remember it's that fantastic game with the sad story. Both are excellent and challenging

I dare ANYONE after playing this to wholeheartedly say "video games aren't art". Beautiful, beautiful game. The accompanied music is perfect for the theme, the graphics are just enough to keep the eye appealed without distracting from the overall emotion and story. The gameplay was fun and challenging, but without being mind numbing and taking away from the experience. The level where you realized immediately that you had to kill Kathryn made my heart drop. I tried to jump on her and sacrifice myself, but to no avail, and that really tore at me. Not just watching her die, but knowing it was coming and pulling that lever to move on so selfishly. Amazing. 5/5 stars and more if I could give them.

If you don't get the point of the story, the entire storyline is the visit from the Psychologist. The "challenges" are pictures and objects shown to him by the Psychologist which he has to explain what it feels like and means. He's explaining to the Psychologist that it's like how his life used to be except that he's doing it all by himself instead of with Kathryn. He then goes on to explain about what happened with Kathryn, but it's unsure of how she died, probably with a challenge they did together. The green box at the end of every challenge signifies the box that he had to find to put her into. The flowers that you spawn at/checkpoint are the 2 flowers he put next to her grave. Personally, I think she died a normal death, and he just put her in the box and buried her because he couldn't handle her death. But that's just me.

very good game not sad but deep, very deep. clever mental challenges and the storyline is as if the Psychologist was talking to you.

It is not surprising to me to see that this game has been played over 3 million times. This is truly a piece of fantastic storytelling, though it seems that it takes a lot from it's counterparts such as Braid - very similar story lines, even similar look and feel to the character.
Great game. Games such as these speak volumes to the idea of the "art game."

This game is truly a masterpiece. It is a piece of art. Every level had a good design, and a good meaning. I cried at the ending. 10/10

The stage wherein Jack pull the Black Lever with Kathryn while she is stepping on it signifies that he murdered her. Well for me. This gives me goosebumps and tears in my eye. This game has so much meaning.

How is it possible that there are more people winning level 20 than level 5?? there is 184,475 people who beat level 5 and there are 226,453 people who beat level 20... ?????

If u notice (Don't read if u haven't played game yet) When Katharyn dies, the man says he is crushed by guilt. So obviously something they did together on accident, or on purpose which is what kanacalli says. Anyway its SO SAD!

To all of those who helped create this game, you all should be proud, due to the fact that for a flash game, this game is unprecedented story wise and how this game isn't The highest rated flash games out there is beyond me and as someone who plays many flash games of all variety I personally thank you for making such a game. You have my 5/5

Is this an old game? Enjoyed it anyway. The writing, subtle music and simple graphics all give it a good atmosphere. Puzzles about the right difficulty level too.

While this was a fun game, it's ancient!! Why's it under New Games? Not just this one either, seen this several times recently.

I don't know who to report this to but for me when going through the first door it starts the level over, I miss this amazing game and am hoping to hear what is happening with it.

Wow. This game is making me cry. It is an amazing game, it has a wonderful aspect and I am enjoying the puzzlement of it all. And by the way, for the people who are confused as to why more peole have earned the medium badge is because it was added before the easy one. I think.

Idk if this means anything but Kathryn was buried in a green box, to beat each lv u must get to a green square/box... is there a connection?

what I gathered from this is that he accidentally killed Kathryn, for the physciatrist clearly stated that he had murdered her, but he must have felt bad, it is obvious in the way that he tells the story that he felt horrible, and was overcome with guilt. Plus, plantig flowers on her grave is a good sign that he didn't mean to kill her, or he regrets doing it. R.I.P Kathryn. And good luck to you Jack. 5/5

Is something going on with kongregate again? First Warlords gets re-uploaded, and now this did too. Someone get Greg on it!

I remember playing this game when I was younger and it being very difficult, but not at all the story of the game. But it truly is an amazing game with an incredible story that I sadly couldn't understand at my young age.

This game received the easy badge for flavour with the Planeswalker Quest. Illusions of Grandeur is an old blue card from Magic the Gathering that fits with the Jace planeswalker spirit.
Anyway, I'm glad to play this game again.

Guys, the game accidentally got taken down for some unknown reason and Kongregate just put the game back up. No need to freak out.

It's hard to find professional games that can weave a story into the gameplay very well. This is done so well here that I'm almost astonished. Great control and an outstanding story. My only complaints are that it's short, and it could be a little more difficult. Still easily a 5/5 game. Amazing.
