I really enjoyed the riddles, route, and rotary portions (and the atmosphere with the music is great, and I adore the "these are instructions not buttons" on the menu), but river and especially riot just break the feel by being less brainy and thoughtful and just aggravating pixel perfect nonsense. It breaks the feeling of desolation and mystery when you devolve to just being angry that you almost made it through that one riot level.

And I agree. The riot parts are totally outta place in a reflexion game and are killing the "philosophical" atmosphere the game wants to create... If I wanna play an arcade game... I'm playing an arcade game.

Don't wanna be too harsh but you gotta wonder if some guys get their whole education through gaming... Put a creepy, "mysterious" music mixed with conspiracy theories and old multiverse theories (exploited to death but that some seem to discover) on a succession of random classic and graphically very rudimentary puzzles (are those from the 80's ?) and BAM ! OMG ! People can't sleep and change their way to see the world... M'kay... There's a life outside of gaming, guys...

My suggestion for round 3 of riot is to move in short hops, don't try to set up corners or a set pattern, just go with the flow in short hops

The game creator has to have a Psychology background most of these games seem to focus around it.
ps. I love the instructions.

a fun game. the only down side for me is difficulty and, as far as the riot sections, the penalty for movement. regardless, fun game.

Hm. Not bad, but I think you missed a trick - the answer to the last riddle could easily have been "fiction", which would've been a lovely near-title-drop.

***Warning: gameplay spoilers for Riots*** The advice from rockdaworld about streaming works like a charm for riot 1-3 (touhou.wikia.com/wiki/General_Strategy#Streaming). I finished it by moving in diagonals around the center but it was harder that way. I found Riot 4 was easier by moving in circles while orbiting the center but streaming also works.

A year and 3 months later I finally managed to solve the fourth riddle. Today I was trying to remember something without knowing it was the answer. I wonder if I would've solved it yesterday.

I was all for the puzzles, but the riot stages where you just have to be dexterous killed the vibe for me. I don't wanna get frustrated at mouse challenges, I'd rather just think.

Wow, reading those documents just completely changed the way I see the world.
I want to cry. But I can't. It's been predetermined that I won't.

I finished the 17 of the puzzles before I realized the icon in the lower right corner showed the documents I'd unlocked. That's almost the definition of gameplay-story segregation, and I didn't get into the story much because of it =/

Wow the files are quite interesting. I haven't finished it yet but I will when I have time :3 The game pushes you to think, which I liked much :3

It kinda annoys me that there are probably people who believe in a conspiracy like the one in the documents. The problem is that it contradicts itself. It asserts that there is a universe for every thought, and yet it also asserts that there is no free will. The conflict is that if there's a universe for every outcome, then every outcome is by definition a possibility. After all, you don't know which universe you're in. For all you know, you could be moving from one universe to the next every second based on what you do. There simply is not enough of a foundation to make the assertion that there isn't free will. Plus, the theory seems to assume that each universe is created for the same purpose: to tell a story. But if every thought creates a universe, and not every thought is a story, then that's obviously not accurate.

This game was incredibly interesting. It makes me rethink the title. If everything said in the game actually is true then I'm starting to think my own existence. But if it was all fiction - it's extremely well done. Spent a good 4 hours trying to work out each puzzle, time well spent. 5/5, very deep meaning - the puzzles were insanely hard but the information was so compelling, it made me want to unlock the next part so I couldn't leave any puzzle out. The music adds to the suspense and mystery - though the knocking sounds made me jump. Very good game!

7 hours later... weeping uncontrollably while playing riot... why does this always happen to me when I use my brain???

Riots are literally the hardest for me.I have yet to pass lvl 3 and 4.
Its too hard for my taste.Any advice i would welcome.

I love how loads of the comments are from people saying that they couldn't start the game, but none of them actually say how to do it. Just spin your cursor in a circle around the little arrow thing until the circle inside the arrow gets big enough, then the game will start.

As for the documents, I went to a web page to read them because I couldn't stand having to move the view around. I got bored quickly. Getting preached at is dull.

I like the start. Most of the puzzles are fun. The one exception is Riot 3. That was not fun. It was a frustrating chore. The concept that you fill the screen by standing still is fine. The main problem was that getting hit took away all progress and the screen took so long to fill. Contrast to level 2 and 4 where I had to be close to the circles and simply move, respectively. The most important thing here is that I am rewarded with faster filling for doing well. There is no such reward in Riot 3. It's the same slow pace the whole time and even when I had a pattern worked out, it was very easy to dodge one row and hit another that hadn't yet cleared the screen.
