The heisenberg response to benubird's question made me laugh a lot Leigh! Thanks! I so can't wait to see more games from you guys. (if you ever need a spare writer/world designer, let me know!)

When selecting difficulty at the start, I'd like to have the description of the currently selected mode available on mouseover. This is a small thing as I can read each one by switching the current selection, but the way it is right now bothers me slightly.

well obviously the team is working seriously on this game ... good graphisme, good gameplay
this kind of games can fall easily on the trap of repetitions ... i think you can inspire your self of great games like shock troopers and shocktroopers 2 for this :)
(one of the last GREAT games of the golden era of neogeo ^^)
adding events (like tank hidden in the tree and soldiers that puts mines on the road or soldier on tower with rpg and sutff like that ^^)
anyway it is a good begining, and with more work it can be a great hit ^^
Thanks, love comments like yours as we're always looking for reference material and ideas. will check out shock troopers on youtube, gotta love the internet! thanks again grinder from HELL. Leigh

Later levels should give more cash, otherwise it encourages grinding the lower levels for upgrades rather than advancing. Also, the gun when you run out of ammo is AWESOME. And there's a problem with limiting range - when I fire the cannon, and then move out of the way of an incoming shot, the cannonfire disappears and doesn't hit the target (which it should!). Apparently, bullets only exist as long as I can see them?
Yes, thats right. Basic quantum physics, there is no objective reality. Once the bullet leaves the screen it only exists as probabilistic. Check out Heisenbergs uncertainty principle. On the other hand i guess general science still believes in causality so i'll ask Onur the coder if he can fix it. Thanks for playing! Leigh

pretty fun game, even though i'm an achievement hunter i liked it. it was easy to play and understand, everything died in a timely manner, and there were no bugs or glitches! great game!

Love how the developer responds to every decent comment. Also, interesting game, has a lot of potential. It was very fun, perhaps a bit short as people said, I'd like to see more from you in the future.

Cant wait for the full game! Also, would have liked to use my guided missiles once I unlocked it...kinda unselectable at the moment :P

Hey just like to say this is a awesome game with heaps of potential.
Just some ideas
Enemies - The soldiers are more like a pest than a real enemy. Maybe like a RPG soldier that can actually seriously damage you
Aircraft Enemies - A flying enemy, maybe a new AA turret
Mines - minefields that can be triggered by mortars
Campaign - Longer game obviously ( i know its a prologue) add a story to it
Allies - Friendly Tanks, soldiers even turrets? May lead to defending missions
Thats all i have to say ;)
Turrets

About the games all is said in the comments: Nice gfx and fun!
Some issues:
- Move the "More Games"-Button out of the "Battlefield"! Integrate it in the HUD on the bottom or elsewhere. Hit it several times accidently and wasted rounds of ammo.
- Got some lags where i can't move anymore. Need to open/close options.
- When only 1 round for cannon left i can't buy ammo for it in the shop. After cannon was out of ammo i can again.
Yes the more games button was a sponsor requirement at last minute. didnt want to redesign hud. will check out the 1 cannon round bug. i think i had that once too. thanks for posting!

Holy. Elite Difficulty is hard. I love that. Great job making a game that's challenging with such fluid gameplay. 5/5
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Good game. As others have said, it is a bit short. I understand this is the starter, and I have to say, well done. I look forward to playing the first part of the trilogy.

Great game. Definitely needs more levels. I'm giving it a 5/5. I think it deserves it, and I'm banking on you winning the contest and making sequels. :D

@ talkwords, you press 0 to fire the rockets one by one. You can also aim towards something to make rockets hit the enemy (Doesn't always work, but can.)

Excellent delivery on the game, but the brevity kills it. I know its been exhaustively mentioned, but even if you split this level up... I mean, you barely notice the upgrades unless you grind through the game several times, and by then the interest has begun to wear thin. That being said, the game is fun. 4/5. Make it longer, possibly a minimap. I like the difficulty, designs and weapons though.

awesome, cant wait for the release of a complete version of this game
ps: if you change that creepy cat logo that also is cool
The cat logo is our sponsor. Not much we can do about it. If the next version has a different sponsor, it will have a different logo. Perhaps a purple flying hippo. :-) -Onur

This was by far one of the best games in this sort of genre i have ever played. It just has so much potential with all of its upgrades and gameplay. I really liked the camera settings and the ability to run over their troops :P
I really enjoyed the arena at the end, it sort of had that "im fighting an onslaught of stuff zomg" feel to it. I think it would be really cool if you could implement some sort of antagonist that you must defeat at all costs to the game, it would give me some kind of sense of purpose xD
i saw some posts that the game was too hard even on the normal setting. i played every single game mode and i felt that each mode was as desribed. normal was not hard at all while veteran was pretty crazy. great game overall id love to see more from you guys

What do the heat seeking missiles do exactly? I bought them but they do not appear to be selectable as a weapon using q/e or 123, etc.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Please disregard my last post...I just figured out that you can enter an easier level after trying "veterans" mode with the huge amount of cash carried over that I just lost some hair over.....
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Where exactly are these checkpoints? I've played through the whole game, almost halfway through a second run, and I have yet to have any opportunity to spend my money on upgrades. I'm somewhat disappointed.
The checkpoint is the rectangular enemy structure with the turret. When you destroy it, a green arrow points inside. If you go in, you can upgrade your tank there. -Onur

And BTW tried for an hour to pass "veterans mode" and there is literally not enough ammo to finish and the tank is too weak... Throw us a bone and make a few more "pickups in there as well as a few more health up's
Also the rocks are a HUGE problem....Suggest darker rocks =low and brighter rocks = high '''''''''''Wasting precious ammo on a rock sucks!
The veteran mode is certainly doable without any upgrades, but very challenging. Elite mode, now that's another story. :-). PS, if you don't want to risk wasting ammo by hitting rocks, consider taking out entrenched targets with the mortar. -Onur
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
well... extremly hard, even on normal setting. Easy setting is absolutely useless, can't get to that first "checkpoint" where I'm meant to spend my hard earned money. Good looking game, but I just can't play it.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Great game! 6/5. Can't wait wait for the sequels. Although I think you should be able to upgrade maneuverability and the speed that your gun swivels.
At the checkpoint, its a square metal turret. once you destroy the turret a green arrow will direct you in. Must play on standard or above to spend cash. Leigh

A good idea would be to put an "current overview map" on the screen so you can tell where you currently are and where you've been or need to go AND IF you are missing any enemies or crates that you have passed.
I would also think that the enemies ammo traveled faster so it's not so easy to dodge it.
A great upgrade would be a perk that allows a tank to become heavier and able to drive over simple rocks and barricades....
The enemy ammo travel faster on higher difficulties. We're certainly considering making them get gradually faster on further levels, to compensate for engine upgrades. As for the overview map: maybe for the next version. Although we wouldn't want to give away the locations of crates, we'd like to keep them semi-secret. :-) -Onur

Excellent game, BUT, it should be clearer which rocks can be shot through. It's really hard to tell whether I or an enemy are in cover, and I've frequently lost valuable ammunition, or taken hits I didn't expect to, because of it. Everything else is great though! Keen for a sequel

I cant believe that in games like this there are infantry running towards a tank with their rifles thinking they could beat it... I mean who do they think they are?? Snake?
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
I'm the sort of player who loves to find a game that is both fun and challenging. So, of course, the first thing I did after reading the manual was dive right into Elite mode. A few failed attempts later I gave Veteran a go, to see the sights and get the layout ahead. After completing that game, I was disappointed to find that my cash and upgrades carried over to Elite. This may seem odd, but considering the challenge warnings Elite carries, being able to wear that challenge away by grinding easier modes... I hope that won't carry over to the full version. You may even consider setting a limit for purchased ammunition at each checkpoint, at least for Elite, to maintain the scarcity that contributes to the challenge of Elite mode. That nitpicking aside, this is a fun game, both familiar and standout as far as tank shooters go. It offers a number of promising features which could really blossom with just a tad more polish, though it is already quite good in its current form.
Thanks for your well thought out critique. the carry over is for this version. part 1 will have a save slot function. Currently i think its impossible to complete elite mode without upgrades. -Leigh

cannot figure out how to use those heatseaker missiles, tried everything. When I hit next weapon button it just never goes to the missile...

Amazing! 10/5 lol Can't wait for a full version. Sucks that the premium upgrades are only on the other site though. Wish I could check them out.
Premium upgrades are available on most websites except Kongregate. I'd say you aren't missing much. You can buy $40,000, slow health regeneration, or a new tank skin. I hope that satisfies your curiosity. :-) -Onur

I played this a bunch of times to try out all the upgrades. You get about $9300 in standard per play so it takes awhile. I didn't see a great deal in improvements with the weapons on the upgrade system (even for the more expensive ones) The tank control upgrades were also meager at best, the tank goes faster but still "not a huge difference".in control.
Lots of potential with this game , Great job! 4/5 because of the upgrade system.
Also the soldiers (though not a problem to kill or run over) sometimes hide under the pickups.
