Thank you everyone for your support throughout these tutorials. I realize this one is tougher, but I hope it is well worth it in the end. Best of luck to all of you! :) [Yes, this is the final tutorial. I am leaving the internet at this point, so there won't be any more, but I will still try respond to comments to help out.]

Very nice! Trying to tech my younger cousin some programming using stencyl and so far it's a lot of fun. Really like the community around it!
I'm glad my tutorials have helped :). If you want more help, I have a set of demos in the StencylForge (search the games section for "Demo-") and run a new livestream for Stencyl (livestream.com/stencyl) under my new username of "Tuo".

Thanks to your amazing tutorial. I am now able to make a game. I will soon make it and publish it to StencylForge and Kongregate. In the game, I will obviously put some links to your amazing tutorials!
Thanks. I'm glad you've enjoyed them... lately the ratings for my tutorials haven't been too kind... but as long as they still help people, it was worth it :).

I am in dire need of help. I have a scene size bigger than the screen size. I draw some text at x:10 y:20. I want the text to be on x:10 y:20 of the scene. However, Stencyl puts the text on x:10 y:20 of the screen, and therefore the text moves along with my character. Is there any way to rectify it? Please help.

Suppose I publish my game on Kongregate. Is there any way to update the game without making the user lose all his progress (i.e, the user's savefile)?

Here's the game we made much thanks to your tutorials. http://www.stencyl.com/game/play/23286
Finding stencyl easier and easier to work with. Just think it's a bit to hard to send data between actors and behaviours. I wish you could make that you can call as a function from another actor in a simple way. Maybe even store a pointer to such a block. You don't happen to know a way to accomplish that?
Hello on here as well today. I'll be on my computer a lot today so if you want to stop by my livestream, I might be able to help more. There are ways to send information between the behaviors/events; it just depends on how you want to do it.

aaaarghhhhh... from Slide 21 gives something different on my version of stencyl. D:
Doesn't give me what you have on Slide 24.
In yours gives you: SET to Level
In mine gives me: SET to Level

Although the guide is a few years old, it's still quite relevant. Big thanks for that. But, where did you get 'LevelNum' in slide 24? I can't seem to find how.

Its would seem this guide is out of date. Thought Immensely useful and easy to follow , I ran into a problem. The " Get Scene name " palatte thing doesnt exist so i need a work around

I am lost in slide 29. The block that says " set [last created actor] to level [] I cant find that. It said created few slides back, but I don't see it...

When I am creating the custom block, I don't have the type "Number"!!! Please help! NOTE: I am using this tutorial for another project. I did not do the stuff in your previous tutorials.
Thanks. Actually, the tip jar is about to go away (as of Dec 31st I think). I will be converting the tips into money for charity at that point though. I'm glad that this helped you though :).

Thanks for your tutorials, Abi. They gave me some basic programming knowledge, despite no previous experience. And while I might not become a game developer, I'm sure others will benefit even more from them. Good luck with your life, you will be missed.

I'm finding these enormously helpful- it's nice to have tutorials that deal with the actual code snippets- I found the crash courses for Stencyl lacking. It's like the difference between a Lego set and an Erector set. Mad props, yo.
I ran into the same situation myself. Went through the Crash Course and ended wondering if I had learned anything :P. That was the reason I decided to make the first set (and then made this set due to the major differences between 1.x and 2.x). I'm glad it's still helping folks out :)
