it was a very good free to play gameplay. ok, the double turn is sometimes strange. but you get also doubleturn sometimes.
i did the mission defend the empire but i can not tell you anymore, how to do the mission. because after years to play again i discovered that one cannot save anymore...... why

This game is the worst bad joke ?? , almost all the time , the enemy start first and have two turns ( double turn ) , and in one occasion , have three turns ( triple turn ) , is unbelieveable that big fail , is impossible to play !!

... Other disaster ... some times , the >>**Master Attack**<< , cause 0 ( zero ) damage , it is a very bad joke ???

Has anyone been able , to do the mission "Defend the empire" ?? , it is totally impossible , the enemy army is enormously superior , in all skills and parameters
... I thought it was a good game , but sadly not , again the same disproportion and ridiculous random damage
The developers don't test games before publishing ?

"Elf. Play only on Kongregate" er... I am on Kongregate... click... wait for the exact same screen to load... "Elf, play only on kongregate" so basically "Elf, we don't want you to play as elf but pretend it may have been an option"

campaign can be done on any difficulty setting... well actually the other difficulties is not unlocked before beating first campaign...

so, My warriors that do above one minimum damage (IE: Heavy infantry garrison, 2-9) still do 1 damage? And what the hell is up with those rolls, it seems to be nothing but consistent one's. Considering I only have 30 turns to win, and the enemies all have 30+ health, it's a bit absurd. One of the enemies just hit my units for 30+ damage on level 3, he killed my general in just a few turns. What the actual shit is going on here? and what's "melee attack" on the unit stats? My heavy infantry garrison has 40, but that isn't really doing much. That's not even mentioning that basic infantry apparently do 0-0 damage? Don't even get me started on these weird double turns that occasionally happen with no pattern as far as i can tell.
Welp, I've already had more than enough of this. No idea how this got badged, 1/5, would honestly rate zero if I could. check out the battalion series by urbansquall if you want to know how turn based games should be done.

Ah, I see, in order to beat this game you must spend a good amount of money upgrading your units (which I didn't do in the beginning). Random damage can be annoying sometimes but i find it far easier to play if you spend about half the money you earned on new troops, and other half on upgrades. Yes, I know it will mean less soldiers on the battlefield but its worth it when they deal significant damage and can activate some skills. Also for my tactics i use around a third of my army as ranged but I believe other configurations will work as good, maybe even better, as long as you upgrade them.

Buy catapults, hide them behind dwarven infantry and heavy inf garrisons, and play defensive to get rid of mobile enemy forces in start, then use catapults to quickly kill garrisons. Target ranged units first, and you shouldn't have any issues

i just got crit 4 times master attacked 7 times in a 4 turn hostile repeat...
needless to say half my army is dead. eh #yolo

people, try buying a couple of bowmen and keep them alive. You can upgrade their weapons and then the minimum damage will go up. This game is quite ok actually

honestly? This wasn't worth the badges. I've never seen such ridiculous dmg system. Variety is huge but still most of the time you do 1dmg. It's not even random. Randomized double turn is not just annoying, it's stupid. 1/5, and i don't rate many games like that. I feel like i literaly wasted a lot of time. Wasn't enjoyable at all

Terrible system, my hourse units does 1-90 damage! So I can kill 80HP enemy in one hit, or cant kill 130HP enemy in 5 turns using 6 units...
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
If my warriors have melee damage of 5-15, why do 50 of them only manage 1 damage? Why is the damage system so random?
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
I have to agree that the damage system is hilariously faulty.
This is what ruins this game after the 5th battle or so.

How do you actually load things? I'm not seeing the option to load a saved game, which is kinda the point of saving them……

A LOT of frustration and confusion could have been avoided if this game had just told us "We're a generic war-time board game" in other words, little units are good against horses and towns, big units are good against archers, horses are good against big units and they get damage bonuses from attacking from behind, and archers are good against horses. keeping that in mind, this game become 3x easier.

The game seems okay aside from the strange multi-tiered crits, but what made me rate it a 2/5 was the turn-limits on missions.. Any time you find a turn-limit or requirement in a game that forces you to completely restart it just so you can build up to meet that one mission's requirements is a game-ruiner.. For this game, it was having an army of ballistea, and finding a missing that expected me to have an army of only cavalry.

LOL the damage system is so f****ng messed up, my units do 1 damage 99% of the times while my hero does something like 60-80.

Fire spells = useless... won't ever let you target it on anything
Game starts several scenarios with "Hi: I killed half your people"
Game fails

The game is fantastic. I love it! I just wish the CPU were faster calculating its moves!
And, what's more, why don't you deepen it even further adding more details about the background story and making it a bit more tolkien-like?

Combat is way too "swingy". One battle will be a cakewalk and the next will be nearly impossible. Some you really, really need to go first, others it doesn't matter
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
ehh i didn't really like this cause its just like fire emblem(which i love) but if i want to play this EXACT game i can in half the time since i own fire emblem awakening.

I gave this game a chance but it seems that all the other comments about it are true. It's disappointing because it has/had so much potential.

nice game, nice idea but some isue's need to be fixed to make it a great game, double turn as much it may be usefull sometime is usualy anoying and get that dmg sistem little beter

Won't give above 2/5 for broken ran-gen. Especially since units are lost permanently, I can't afford "Oh, you just lost 3/4 health on your tank. Why? Oh, just cuz." Also, I'm not going to a different site for a "new, bigger, and better game."
